Make the perk a choice between one of the two eyes. One eye is the overshield other eye is the wallhacks but you can’t have both at once. Choose which one you value more. I would say wallhacks just should not exist at all in an fps arena shooter but removing that part completely doesnt seem realistic

  • How would you proc the overshield though? The way it works is because of the tracker and without knowing which is the target, you'd probably never have it activate unless your target is right in front of you. Unless you are meaning to tell me it just activates on any kill...

  • Idk just make it work the same as now except if you opt for the overshield it just highlights them red instead of marking them through walls

  • Wouldn't that make the use of just wall hacks kinda...underwhelming? I understand the tracking is valuable, but over shield and damage boost would be so much more valuable in the middle of a gun fight. The wall hacks would have to grant an additional benefit for it to be valuable. Obviously it doesn't compare, but foe tracer as an example. Does anybody actually use that exotic despite it being able to grant similar tracking abilities? Something like weapon reload or a bump to ability cool down, like a small one, would need to be done to make it valuable.

Wall hacks in an arena shooter with destiny’s pacing are extremely valuable. People don’t use spectral blades just for the super, you can have wallhacks up pretty much 24/7 if you lane with a sniper. They remove every element of surprise and unpredictability your opponent can have on you and in OEM’s case you are rewarded with wallhacks for letting someone shoot you. Does not really make sense to be punished for shooting someone in a... shooting game. Most oem users might not see its value but a good player can take huge advantage of it by playing near cover and getting an opponent to make the mistake of pushing you while you can see their every move, which is pretty much a free kill if your positioning and reaction time is good. There is no excuse to dying in a one on one while your enemy is marked since all they have it the radar and whatever is in sight. Like I said though, position yourself so that they can’t see you and you can easily kill them. Right now you are rewarded for that easy kill with instant regen into a +100 overshield which is broken, but if they were separated I think it would be fine.

Foe Tracer grants a tracker for a very short time just for aiming at a target but extends the duration when you deal a certain amount of damage. Despite it offering the same style of tracker as one eyed...nobody uses it. If the tracker were as valuable as you say, why don't more people use this exotic? There's a situational argument to be made here. Just because you have a person tracked doesn't guarantee you that you kill them. In a 1v1 you obviously have a big advantage with knowing where they are, but Destiny isn't a 1v1 game, but rather a TEAM based arena shooter. The tracker won't be all that valuable when you are in the middle of combat, which is where the value of one eyed masks tracker is broken, because it grants you strong benefits that can be activated as soon as you kill that marked target. If you take away the bonuses it gives mid combat but leave the tracker, it becomes a more situational exotic just for 1v1s as in a 2v2 or more, the value of the tracker only applies to one enemy. The reason nightstalkers is so powerful is because it's ACTUAL wall hacks. True sight let's you see everyone within a set distance as well as their full model, meaning you can predict the weaponry they are using, the super, etc. Take widow maker from overwatch as an example. With her ult, which is the same as true sight, you can see which characters are there meaning you can pick your battles so that you stay alive and can kill the enemy more efficiently. The tracker grants knowledge of where the enemy is, but not of multiple targets nor which class or weaponry they have equipped. Let's say you have nospecial ammo and 2 players are charging at you and you have true sight active. One is a titan who likely has shoulder charge ready to kill you and a shotgun. The other has a handcannon because they have a sniper as their secondary. Your goal would be to kill the one who poses the least threat first as the one with special and shoulder charge is just going to kill you instantly, so you adjust to at least try and take out the one with the least likely chance to kill you, because regardless you are at a disadvantage, but you want at least 1 kill. In this same situation, the tracker from one eyed wouldn't save you from dying because you don't know what they have available, so you can see one of them...you just can't get into a good enough position to beat them. With an overshield, if you at least killed one of them, you'd have a better chance of defeating the other because you became harder to kill. Simply knowing where they are will always be valuable, but radar makes having that kind of knowledge not as valuable and nightstalker takes away their knowledge of their location AND let's them know exactly what you are doing.
