• in case anyone doesn't understand the point: its a celebration, i dont know how you do celebrations from where you people live, but places like Glass Fest where we celebrate the achievements of the (ex) glass capitol of the world (thanks corning for moving half the glass facilities to Ohio, we lost to the damn Chinese because of that), they literally hand out little trinkets and items thematic to the event, hand blown glass tree bulbs, glass fish statuettes, prisms, etc we are not forced to make these item our selves, or do random tasks to get these, its a celebration YOU DO NOT FORCE PEOPLE TO GRIND FOR CELEBRATORY REWARDS i could go on an hour long rant naming off events and what they give out because they are celebrating an achievement or holiday, but for sanity sake lets go with Ecuador summer solstice celebration since its the closest resemblance to this event, the literally have food, games, parades, and for tourists you can get shirts, Incas themed accessories, snow globes, and canes. some thing you have to buy, but its also cheap compared to the fact it would cost hundreds of dollars to ship them to you, but the bigger point YOU DO NOT MAKE PEOPLE TO GRIND FOR CELEBRATORY REWARDS have i said it enough for y'all to understand, that is the point BOOMSILENT is trying to make. grinding can be nice especially in an MMORPGFPS like destiny, but not for celebrations.

      • It's not "celebrate", it's "celibate". Game, as entertainment, should never cause frustration, irritation, or feel forced on. Promote you to do something, motivate, inspire - yeah, sure. Coercing? Nuh-uh. I have real life to do stuff I don't like (and not getting paid for that as well). Doing stuff I don't like in what supposed to be entertainment, is not double offence, like procrastination, it's quadruple offence. So armour looks nice, but, ehm, no. I better bump my head over broken glass or play competitive Crucible in fruitless attempt to get Fabled ((which is the same for me because I'm that bad), rather than doing all that stuff. If I could complete all steps just by playing Crucible or at least Gambit solo, I'd give it a try. But reading all comments on various boards - I'd say having your root channel worked it is more interesting experience.

      • Speak for yourself, I love the grind. I'm going to get the majestic armor for all 3 characters. And when you see me in the tower you're going to get mad and jealous. I'm sorry if some players aren't capable of spending time and effort on something and just want instant gratification and everything put on their lap.

        • thing is solstice of heroes is meant to be grindy...its a part of moments of triumph which separate the grindy loyal players from the casuals, so a guardian wearing full majestic gear thats also masterworked is letting those players show off their loyalty to the series...if you dont wanna do it....dont...go ahead. You're the perfect example of the casual player.

            • What I have learned over my 2 years with this game is wait till things go on sale and wait to grind things until the sweats have had their time and Bungie eases up on the tasks because no one is playing them. You might miss out on some seasonal bullshit but everything relevant will always be obtainable. I have no more FOMO with this game and I think everyone else is coming around to this as well lately.

              • I tried the EAZ just to see what it was, then I haven't played in days. I didn't bother with last year's Solstice, because making me grind for armor that's gonna be replaced when I gear up in Shadowkeep isn't what I call incentive.

              • Yep. I do some raids and then leave. Also, feel i’ll take a vacation from shadowkeep at the start and watch some reviews to see if the changes are worth coming back

              • Yea... I’m already over it. They have demonstrated for the umpteenth time that they don’t know how to properly implement pursuits within their own game model. It’s that time again where I take a long break from Destiny. The annoyances just build up and then I just need to stop. I’ll wait for a Shadowkeep bundle on sale next year.

I'm grinding for crucible tokens (5,000+ rn), e cores and mod components. I am not running around in a -blam!-ing green armor to be cannon fodder. -blam!- you, Bungie.

                    • I haven’t touched SoH, I haven’t even unlocked EAZ because why? I did SoH last year and it was pointless. I’ll just wait for SK and see how it goes and if it’s still good a month or more after I’ll buy but atm I’m playing what I want and farming bright dust and recourses having a good time while I see all these people losing their mind of needless grinds for armor that needs cosmetics that you can’t earn all in the given timeframe.

                    • I finished on 1 character. I haven’t MW’d all the armour pieces yet. I’ll do that and that’ll be the end of the event for me. 72 packages turned in and have a fairly decent build given the better rolled pieces that dropped. (I’d say 1 in 5 packages will drop a Solstice armour piece. Then it’s RNG for the 2nd time hoping you get a good roll.)

                      • BOOMSILENT You make some valid points and i agree that eververse must be removed from this game but, Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.
