For me, the issue is I feel like the pinnacle weapon quests hurt enjoyment of the game. Most of them require you to play a particular way for an extremely long time. (to the point where it becomes an un-enjoyable grind). This in turn also negatively effects the players around you. (Players in crucible using triple grenade launcher, players farming blind well instead of completing the strike they are in etc) Most of the pinnacle weapons are pretty cool or fun to use, so I really appreciate Bungie designing their unique perks. But I don't think the way we acquire them is good for the game.

  • It's a point that other people have touched upon, but I'll reiterate it here. Last season's Pinnacle weapons were probably the best in terms of how to obtain them, from the perspective of the whole community, because they were completely unintrusive. Play Comp, play Gambit , play Strikes and that's it. Mountaintop was simply awful to get, though absolutely worth it, and the Luna's Howl quest was not exactly enjoyable either. Personally, I think quests like Revoker's are the ideal; Snipers aren't bad in PvP and the people who want to get the gun will play the way they need to without trying too much. No forcing themselves to use detrimental setups for extended periods but not so simple that you don't have to do anything other than playing the mode the weapon is tied to.

  • i agree that revoker was the best system to date for pvp pinnacle quest. It helps too that snipers are popular in crucible, and players can play the meta while still working towards the quest. Stuff like wendigo, I had fun with fighting lion in strikes for the first hour or two, but after that it became a real slog and felt like punishment if I wanted to use a different weapon type. So although the quests aren't hard, I still posit that they detract from fun. I'm so burned out from getting 21% delirium I basically haven't touched gambit this season.
