The penalty for competitive loss is too great when Bungie allows modding and recoveries to take place.
I won't be buying anymore Bungie products based upon their policy of punishing honest players and hiding the best parts of the game behind a broken, corrupt system of advancement.
I have reset my valor rank 10 times, my gambit rank 3 times this season yet, I cannot go higher than Brave III solo in competitive. This game shows it caters to cheaters without any skill. PVP will never be competitive with one shot weapons, modders and recoveries. This is clearly working as intended so no reason for any honest player to support a company that values scumbags over honest players.

2 RepliesWith all the problems Destiny 2 pvp has (i.e. lack of good matchmaking, lack of dedicated servers, etc.) comp shouldn't even exist. I know comp is supposed to be hard, however, the gamemode called "COMPETITIVE" is not very competitive when it's not fair or balanced. In fact, one of the most optimal strategies is paying your way to a weapon. It's honestly ridiculous at this point.

There should only be no Glory gain on losses rather than a deduction. That would boost participation but still benefit team play.

2 RepliesNot trying to be rude or anything but did you even play season 3 comp? Season 4 and on are MASSIVE improvements from season 3 and are way easier to gain points in.

22 RepliesAll bungie has to do is stop taking glory away for losses. Then recoveries stop. Ddos'ing stops. The need to cheat the game stops. This would fix most of the problems associated with the comp playlist. Although I'm sure cheaters would still cheat...it just wouldn't be as rampant as it is now.

9 RepliesI made it to 4100 glory solo. Took about 130 matches. Then bungie broke my loadout in the may update and I couldn't kill a single enemy, so quit. Game is for sure broken. You'll get to a point were your weapons won't do any damage and you'll lose 90% of your battles that you'd normally win easily. They rigged this game. Specially when you get to a point of ranking up in comp. For instance, 1800 glory. You'll stay there for a good 10 matches before progressing forward if you play solo. If you play solo, the game will intentionally match you against 5500 glory players and put -blam!-in nubs on your team. Talking people that are 300-700 glory with .9 or less kda. It's really stupid how bad they dicked people over from getting weapons in comp. Cause it's a fun game mode. Best thing for it, is to do what apex legends does. +80 points for a win. +10 points for a lose. If the match is close, give the losing team +40 points. This way, you are always progressing and since match making is dogshit and puts you against 5500 glory players when you are below 1000 glory. I see no issue doing this method. I been playing comp in apex solo, I'm on a 14 losing streak. Yet, I still leveled up. Slowly, but surely and I like that a lot! Bungie sucks, said it since I started playing destiny. They suck, always have sucked and will continue to suck and ruin the enjoyment game as long as certain people are in their positions. I do like the game though. Love/hate.

PvP pinnacle weapons should've never been created or at least never been super hard to get. They should've just been possible to obtain via quickplay.There's no reason to make them super hard to get. Loaded Question and Wendigo are pretty good PvE weapons but they weren't hard to get. If people have to cheat or manipulate matchmaking in order to get something they want then that's an obvious sign that something needs to change. You can argue with me all you want but that doesn't change the truth. Do you really need something to make you feel "special" or inflate your ego? I'll never understand such a thing.

The time has come for the developers to reward the community that supports them. They should immediately reduce or remove the penalty for competitive. The have already nerfed this meta and the hardcores got to use it relentlessly for 8 months. Bungie said they would not repeat the mistakes of Redrix from D1 by only having 11k players actually acquire the weapon. Let the players have the weapons before Shadowkeep so there is a level playing field for all. It would also bolster new player involvement in the game but, who am I to tell you how to run you business. Your model has proven you drive away more players than you attract. Hmmmm, maybe you should make your game more accessible to the majority, just a thought.

26 RepliesI got my 2100+ points solo but I still agree. Competitive is the most toxic and annoying game mode in Destiny. The losing points system of something they call "Competitive" is very frustrating. If it is competitive then explain me these things. Why is there a reset every season on points? Why is there a 5500 cap? Why do you lose points when blueberries leave? This completely messes up the competitive system and will only make that a select group of crucible gods can aquire a gun like the Not Forgotten. The negative consequence of this fact is that this system causes frustrated players to look for alternative ways on aquiring the gun which will make the system even more messed up. Cheaters, ddossers, region router win trading, matchmaking freezing, recovs messing up the fair match making it all makes it completely garbage. Players who say that region router win trading doesn't affect the matches. Maybe not the matches itself but by aquiring the gun it will give you an advantage over a player of equal skill. Since fixing the complete system is impossible to do for Bungie I think and taking away all the pinnacle weapons from players who didn't get them legit will never happen I would suggest changing the pinnacle weapon quests in Competitive. Change all pinnacle weapon quests in Competitive to a Revoker like quest. This will make everything a lot less frustrating and toxic. Problem solved.

Personally, I think Bungie should make all the pinnacle weapons require simply earning Glory points like Revoker. It's refreshing. Having completed Recluse, Luna, and Mountaintop all in one season, I can honestly say Competitive crucible is without a doubt the worst and biggest joke about the game in terms of quality vs. rewards. Playing towards Revoker solo this season is just pitiful. It's reminiscent of Quickplay where you with win or lose by landslides. The matchmaking quality has gotten far worse. The diehards are kidding themselves saying it's gonna be E-Sports material some day. It's been 5 years, wake up for the love of Christ.

When you lost that last comp match did you throw your controller on the floor, cross your arms and say “harrumph.” I bet you did.

5 RepliesSo because you suck at PvP it's Bungie's fault? LOL Resetting your valor and gambit rank means nothing. It doesn't mean you're good, it just means you grinded the playlist. Your comp K/D is 0.76 you need to fix that before you start accusing everyone of cheating or modding. The simple reality is that the vast majority of people aren't cheating or modding, they are just better than you. I play quite a bit of PvP in this game and can count on one hand the number of people I've run into that are cheating in some way. It's not some epidemic as you are trying to make it out to be.

4 RepliesOnly PSN and XBL can stop recovs. Nothing bungie can do. I solo’d to 2100 through sheer perseverance over about 6 days. There were times I lost 800 points in a day. Now I am around 1800 glory. Highest I got was about 2400. Sure I bumped into recovs, but I also met a lot of good teams that knew how to rock the meta. Pretty sure Bungie is going to make some changes, but recovs will persist until PSN and XBL restrict p2p on anything but your primary console. Not sure it’s worth dropping a bomb like that.
