Fix mercury add additional patrol zone

MERCURY is by far the worst planet on destiny. No body enjoys going there. the patrol zones Redick small you cant call up your sparrow and its baren as idk what. The infint forst.... well.... ugh... buff said. Even with the cool things you have done with the infint forest on holiday events. That still leaves the planet feeling flat for the rest of the time. Boaring and really enjoyable at least for me and mine. Why not add a pleauge sized addition to the planet. A new patrol zone that opens up beneath the planet . Some where build with sparrows and exploration in mind. With more of a futuristic vibe to it. And a more d1 style mysterious feel. More hidden secrets and lore. It would be easy anuff to do. Story wise. This could be a reason to reintroduce orsius. Most people where not happy about the dlc. And having such a lengeadry gurdian. Pop up for a few story missions and then disappear back into nothing. This new patrol space could be a way for gurdians to interact more with him, get more lore , and more understanding on him and what's going on in the infinite forest and with the vex. it could even be a way to introduce more of his followers. Brother Vance is super annoying at this point and played out. Maybe introduce a new female follower with more personality. Mercury is missing that d1 light house feel of wounder and mystery. And every planet needs a big patrol zone. Thatd end game for some people. Heck for everyone really. Because even if your a raider, or a try hard pvp head. Your always forced to replay these old areas to level up and do bounties ect. So the bigger the patrol zone, the more flushed out, the more diffrent kinds of secrets and events. The more you design patrol zones and play spaces with more in mind then runing and shooting thr better then game as a whole and defintly the end game and longevity will be. Put sparrow jumps I mean huge jumps, under ground speed ways, or free ways and hidden sparrow back routes. Loops and f zero like speed strips. Add secrets to each planet that chnage through out the seasons. Mystery and random enemies that pop up. That you dont just run and chase down. That you have to really hunt down to find. Like in a mmo or rpg. And give those enemys more then bounties let them drop lore, special weapons and armor. Anyway I'm getting a little of topic. Mercury could be would be alot more playable if you added a good sized second patrol zone. Maybe with one of the content drops in the new seasons next year. for instance we are getting the moon. And then if you dropped a second patrol zone on mercury like you did with the taken king and phobos, . Or the plague lands and the comsadrom. It would go add alot more to the end game replayability then just one new area.

    • Why fix rather than delete Mercury altogether? More space for newer and better content, a failed dlc no longer a need to do and future lore stating it's uninhabitable and a lost cause due to vex and cabal interference.

      • I've learnt this week that FP weeks are excellent on Mercury because all the Yellow bars roaming around. Start at the light House then keep walking around the map killing all yellow bars and rack up loads of legendary and exotic engrams.

      • The infinite forest could have been so much more to. Like imagine going to a simulated world where the hive live and going through multiple dungeons and caves where you slaughter a bunch of powerful enemies. Or other simulations where the vex are in the middle of transforming planets and you have to stop them, or visiting simulations of the taken. There was so much potential! But we got the same old sections that we have to clear. Lol

        Heroic adventure, public event and lost sector twice. Thats basically what? Half hour in mercury on Flashpoint. Done. Half hour out ur life

            I didn't read it But here's what to do with Mercury Replace Vance, add FIRE & Brimstone It should be a lethal place to be (what with Mercury half destroyed) - have it go fully seismic/volcanic - huge eruptions, molten lava, vex tech harnessing this power to create deadly encounters Become the only planetary location that has modifiers as you land - no hints beforehand, & possibly bring in a revamped revoke (5 squares) system The enemy constantly going into full scale war mode (move against each other etc) Armies of Yellowbars kicking ass, Vex becoming smarter, evolving through tech & monitoring of other species... Then integrate all of the Adventures/Strikes (inc the Saint 14 mission) & open the Infinite Forest into the general patrol area, all the unique enemy & bosses & add a new fast travel point New Public Events using its own area resources - haunted forest/strike bosses/story bosses etc, & those random jail areas/trio of ninja Psions etc a Vex EP style event on a massive scale would work great = [b]Infinite Protocol[/b], scope to evolve, adapt, overwhelm Then give it mystery & loot - crank up the difficult to the [b]highest[/b] cap Make Y3 versions of the (curated) weaponry forge & revamp the armour set (they looked rubbish) What with the Moon being reintroduced in ShadowKeep & (rumours of Venus in D3) a Vex invasion army storming in the new season 8/9? - maybe Mercury becomes the Vex stronghold & a god damn difficult place for Guardians to operate/survive in... A Vex dungeon style place, going into the depths of a seismic rift....would be great Vex Mythoclast reward anyone? And add some hope - maybe Saint 14 isn't dead ...or the Stranger (she introduced us to the Vex) appears

They purposely leave the sparrows out [u]because they think you are stupid[/u] , but not so stupid that if you had your sparrow then you might notice how small and shit that planet is, so because [u]they think your stupid [/u]they figured they can just hide the sparrow. there is no other excuse for why sparrows are removed from that shitheap.

                Edit: There needs to be more posts similar to this, bringing up actual ideas that can improve this game. There is way too many small petty requests on this forum asking for things that do not benefit the game or things not actually needed. Post like this is what Cozmo and Dmg should be paying more attention to. They could open up Infinite Forest and make that a parol zone to at least put it to use. There is a hell of a lot of playable ground in this game that is never used. It's one of the things that annoyed me about D1, having massive areas that are playable just sitting there empty. Bungie needs to learn how to work smarter, not harder.

                  • What Mercury DOES need, is more public events. It's the slowest moving rotation in the game. Not to mention that this event is pretty short. Not worth the wait for the next event. It's good that they included enemies killed, but still... the fact that they had to add that in shows how little there is to do.

                    • I’m not gonna lie, I’m not reading all that. Mercury doesn’t need sparrows, it’s too small a place; ain’t bungies fault you’re too lazy to run around. If you want to get around quicker then use the interceptors

                      • Don't change, just delete it. Remove unwanted and unnecessary space so that more content can be added without requiring more space to be used on hardware. When shadowkeep drops, a message saying that Mercury was lost in the ongoing conflicts, and due to the planetary destruction from the all mighty, Mercury is now a lost cause.
