I don’t do Facebook or twitter or instagram or any of that stuff, this is the only forum I go on, and it’s because of the game itself. With that in mind this forum and companion app should be the main source of info for anything destiny related. Obviously it would be better if the actual game was a bit more direct in what I’m supposed to be doing instead of me having to google stuff, like starting the thorn quest or bad juju or whisper. Etc, etc.

  • Totally agreed, and this has been a persistent problem since D1, where people had to go LFG on third party sites (which may or may not have been shady). Bungie and other devs' insistence on "Don't you people have phones" attitudes is really rather aggravating, particularly for those of us who care about good game design and don't think it's good game design practices to design a game around having to go outside the game just to find info about the game: D1 and D2 are really the only games where I literally leave my laptop open and running beside my Xbone just so I can look up and watch YouTube videos to find out what I'm supposed to do next (or to troll Bungie.net forums while waiting for those interminably loading screens to load/Crucible matchmaking to start). :P Trying to watch one of those videos on a phone screen is all but impossible if you want to check out particular details, and I don't want to have to put down my controller just to pick up my phone. Everything you need to know about the game, and how to accomplish in-game tasks, should be easily available to the end user _within the game_: Google may appreciate that D1 and D2 has people hooked on watching YouTube, but the only platform that benefits from this (other than Stadia), is YouTube, not Bungie.
