Anyone here telling you they wouldn’t have cheesed it if they weren’t a day 1 homer is a -blam!-ing liar. We all would have if we knew about it. There’s literally no reason not to. All the triumphs are mindless farming. It’s not like they take any skill to do. You’re basically just skipping busy work if you cheese it.

The weapon isn't even as good as it's 1st version anyway, it surely isn't worthy of all the insane grind needed to get it with the catalyst. Also the Tribute Hall it's here to stay so one can sloooowly do the quest during the rest of 2019 while playing the game. No need to suffer from FOMO over this one, imo.

Does everyone not have a shit ton of legendary shards lying around?

I never really did much grinding for materials and never stocked up on them because I didn't really need them... After 5 hours of grinding materials and spending all my glimmer over and over again, along with my shards, I still have 2 more tributes to go before I get Bad JuJu... After that, I won't even bother going after the catalyst - which is a shame. The quests for guns are getting ridiculous, and not in the best way. No one likes grinding patrol zones for 5 hours trying to get hundreds of materials. Especially when they reward you 1-2 per thing which makes the grind incredibly tedious. It's not even fun... It's just patrol. Hours and hours of patrol and nothing else. And for you people who have 2,000 shards - that isn't normal. Other people do things beyond playing destiny so we have a much more limited amount of materials, making this grind insane and tedious. Plus the gun will get nerfed into the ground soon anyways making it all a waste of time. Such as the solstice gear last year.

Anyone defending this quest is being ridiculous. All this quest is, is a way for them to sap our resources before shadowkeep. Wait for solstice I’m sure it will have more items that cost ridiculous amounts for no reason. Literally think about it. The tribute hall exists for no reason other than to get your to waste mats. Frankly after this mess of a quest and obvious resource sap I’m very concerned about Shadowkeep. Frankly it’s looking like another bungie expansion. All reskins more pointless tedium for players and nothing we have now is worth a crap after it. Lazy game design as always geared to make money quick and leave players behind.

I've already done Leviathan raids (Leviathan and EOW) dozens of times with leviathan raid gear equipped. I've already done a metric ton of strikes and nightfalls. I've (unfortunately) been forced into this game's poisonous PvP hundreds of times for quests and daily/weekly engrams, suffering through while bad sports super you to death after the match is over and IT STILL SOMEHOW COUNTS TOWARD YOUR K/D. Full clans vs randoms, Luna Howl, all the horseshit this game had thrown at me and I've marched through hoping the good times will come eventually. You know what sucks? Trying to bank 20 motes without dying while playing with a fire team full of people who also need to bank 20 motes without dying. All while wearing or otherwise owning gear I've had since late 2017, early 2018. And now I'm being asked to do it again for an unreasonable amount of time for a single damn gun (without the catalyst, which requires nearly 3 times as many tributes) while some people get to skip it because they found an easier and better way to do it? Keep in mind we're doing all this for a gun many of us already freaking had in D1 and this grind is taking place 20 days during the summer. I'm 32 so that doesn't matter much to me, but I feel for the teenagers who get to waste their summer vacation on this nonsense. I would've done the cheese if I'd known about it without blinking. "Real gamer blah blah" nonsense be damned. I'm not doing anything I haven't done before and I've no shit done everything Bungie wants me to do to get this gun already. If I had of known how boring and tedious this quest was in the beginning I would NEVER have done it legit. I hate cheesing stuff and always complete something legit first. Same with riven and spending 4 hours beating her at first. Bad juju was worse / is worse than the mars wars at drop mission and the material farm for the exotic swords in D1. Actually way worse. I can’t wait to finish this $hite. My Xbox has been on for a day now in 400 forges . Who has time for it?

All this sounds like is a case of 'got to have it now', which runs throughout this community. The gun and tribute hall aren't going anywhere, it's ok to take your time. With that said, although I wouldn't have done the cheese, to each their own.

I can understand but we have 1,5 month time to do all that stuff. Just stop expecting to do all in one week.
