I agree with the Skeleton Key system, it worked well and made the Nightfall strikes feel rewarding without having to grind endlessly. Perhaps there should be a reward tier system for the Nightfall score: Tier 1 - 50,000 Tier 2 - 100,000 Tier 3 - 100,000 + Anything is better than relying on RNG.

  • The skeleton keys in D1 were RNG based, so ur basically asking for a double rng system?

  • Come to think of it, you're right, it would drop frequently but not all the time, and if I remember correctly, I think some strikes had varying loot, either a weapon or armor piece. But after a few strikes, keys would drop frequently although it was rng, but it works a lot better than what we have now. If you're saying I'm asking for a "double" RNG system, that's much better than running Nightfalls, and hoping for a drop regardless of a score, at least with the keys, you had a much better drop rate.

If ur asking for keys, then your asking for double rng. In D1, you farmed strikes for skeleton keys, then used the key at the end of the strike you wanted the gear from. The gear drop wasnt guaranteed. There was rng in that too. Plus the added fact that random rolls was also on that strike gear. So double rng is what your asking for. Tlhe strikes that came with Forsaken dlc has random rolls on the weapons. So u farm the noghtfalls for keys then use them to get the gear, plus the rolls you want. Thats would be worse than we have now.

  • The keys had a decent drop rate, and yes the gear was RNG based but that's still a better chance at getting "something" rather than running the same Nightfall over and over again and getting nothing. I know that the gear has random rolls, I'm not talking about the rolls, I'm talking about actually having a better chance at getting Nightfall gear in general. Nothing was guaranteed, but again, you had a better chance at getting something and even if I am asking for keys, is that a problem? I'm sure people will whine about that just because it's something else to complain about, but whether it's double RNG, or whatever, I was saying I liked the skeleton key system because it gave people a better chance at getting actual gear, the rolls are always going to be random so there's no point in me complaining about the rolls, just being able to get the specific gear from said strike/Nightfall.

  • I agree with Say No To Rage on this one. 1. Break 100K, and the thing should jsut drop for you. 2. Having Titles depending on RNG like this just inexcusable.

  • I do agree, if you're able to reach such a high score, you should be rewarded with loot, not just a higher power level loot drop, but the actual Nightfall drop. The titles are cool, but that should be based on a simple completion, but if I were to complain further about that, I'd be preaching to the choir on that one.

Technically, there is. Nightfall reward drops work like this. Your highest score from the nightfall is key here. Your high score based on the strike will increase your chances. There are 4 tiers 30k 60k 110k 200k Obviously, 200k nightfalls have the highest chance to drop your desired loot. However, some nightfalls suffer HEAVILY from being too short, or not having enough enemies to compensate, therefore it’s near impossible to get 200k, as you have to put a SIGNIFICANTLY higher handicap to compensate, or much more difficult nightfall modifiers. To put things into perspective, for strikes like lake of shadows and the inverted spire, these 2 in particular require a massive handicap to get over 200k. I don’t actually know what the handicap has to be. AlI know is I couldn't get it with as much as a 6.25 multiplier, and I could not find any sites reccomending what the score multiplier should be in order to get 200k in these 2 strikes. (and this was also before the update that nerfed nightfall scoring. I originally could go in with a power level handicap of 90 with match game, famine, and grounded to get a 6.25 multiplier. Now the same strategy only gives a 4.25 multiplier, based on if I put a similar handicap to my previous strategy, which I think would have to now be 190. I REALLY think nightfalls should score based on this freaking principle again, because it is literally impossible to get 200k on these 2 particular strikes. Granted, I have collected at least 1 of every nightfall loot in the game. Need a better rolled militias birthright and wardens law though... I really wish bungie would compensate for these particularly troublesome strikes like this to at least greatly increase the score of killing ads in these strikes). Once you get your desired high score, you have 2 options. 1. Continue doing pretty high scoring nightfalls of at least maybe 100k? Higher scores I believe will increase drop chance even more, but I can’t confirm. However, this will be much more time consuming to option 2. It may not be the most effective. 2. Speed run the desired nightfall after you achieve your high score. Do it as fast as possible. Change the modifiers to be in your favor with no downsides (aka only our green modifiers on, and lower the handicap to maybe about 120). This will make the farming process go much faster, but of course, the lower score threshold may work against you. This method is preferred by most players. Good luck getting your weapons Guardians.
