Bright dust shouldn’t be a currency to buy tributes in the tribute hall.
It’s an in game currency which can be bought with real money, which could encourage spending of real money to complete the tribute hall.
This could be an oversight on Bungie’s behalf however it shouldn’t be used here, it’s a vanity item/ eververse currency.
Not to mention it’s quite difficult to farm in large quantities required to buy the tributes.

lol, i was finally able to dump my 50k of bright dust. Now im back to over 40 k... 😂😂

Edited by distractedFreek: 7/24/2019 1:09:37 AMCome shadowkeep they're making bright dust earnable from activities. Anything that would give you bright dust when dismantled will no longer do so. Anything that required bright dust to pull from collections will no longer require it.
-
Shut up man
-
I spent $20 on engrams to get like maybe 1k bright dust.
-
No. I have 50k BD and finnaly some place to trade'em.
-
I dismantled all the ships and sparrows and any shaders I had from Eververse packages and did the five that you bought with dust with ease. Anyone who would pay real money for engrams which would give probably a worse return than that doesn't know what the hell they're doing.
-
In the grand scheme the catalyst that you receive for Bad Juju by completing 45 Tributes should supposedly make the gun better. I don’t have it so I can’t say if Bad Juju is better with the catalyst or not! Assuming the gun becomes better with the catalyst. Using Bright Dust to purchase Tributes and using real money to purchase additional Bright Dust to further purchase more Tributes seems wrong. I don’t care what people spend their money on especially if the items they are purchasing are cosmetic. In this instance we are crossing that line. We are now allowing people to purchase Bright Dust and allowing that resource to be used towards acquiring a non cosmetic item. Hmmmm. Seems like Eververse is now expanding from a cosmetic only store to a quick pay to allow players to acquire the Bad Juju catalyst faster than grinding out Bright Dust through in-game activities. Not liking this.

Edited by name: 7/11/2019 9:28:18 AMdestiny2 is pay2win for quite some time now, since they sold ghost shells with ingame abilities
-
Edited by Amazinite: 7/11/2019 5:16:28 PMSilver dust isn’t bought with money, silver is. If the amount of dust required is an issue then just build up your discount first like I am. I have all the tributes bought except for that one for that very reason.
-
Oh be quite about this one. I had like 35000 worth if bright dust and it's down to 14000 now. All my grinding that i don't mean to do played off. That's all the grinding for all the eververse gear while y'all were complaing about eververse being the micro of the game and so on. If you played the game without thinking half the time that one thing wouldn't be a problem for you.
-
That’s funny, I never paid a penny yet I have loads of dust.
-
1 wait discount 2 farm it , eververse gives you easy farming
-
Yes please. Its ridiculous that a currency derived micro transactions is being used to buy an in-game tribute that results in earning an in-game exotic and its catalyst. "But this game isn't pay to win!"
-
destiny becoming pay 2 win? what will the warframe haters say now, especially since warframe ISN'T pay to win (pay to go faster yes, pay to win no)
-
How is it bought with real money? You can also earn bright dust by just playing and doing eververse bounties, and once your discount is 80% it’ll cost almost nothing.
-
Cut em a break. They gotta bleed out your bright dust before September one way or another.
-
Been sitting on 100k bright dust for about a year. Finally have something to spend it on
-
A vanity item currency used to buy a golden ghost shell statue and sparrow statue. I think those count as cosmetics. I'm gonna wait until I have the maximum discount to buy any of those
-
It’s an in game currency which can be bought with real money, which could encourage spending of real money to complete the tribute hall.
That's probably the point. You're talking about the same company that got caught throttling xp and stretched the truth. They need the cash with no more publisher and only 1 investor (unless theres more I dont know about).

Edited by BraddyBo: 7/12/2019 6:11:50 AMBright dust is only required for ONE TRIBUTE. Wait until u hit 80% discount and it will cost ~750 dust. Only 45 tributes are required for the bad juju catalyst and the 80% discount is required for a triumph anyway in case you are going for the 50 tribute triumph. Edit: Ok 5 tributes, probably ~4000 bright dust with 80% discount. I have 4000 bright dust right now and i started the week at 1200.

I just hate the fact the only way for me to get Bright dust is bounties, Engrams give me -blam!- all as my horrible RNG just gives me emotes, transmit effects, ornaments and legendary ghost, ships and sparrows. I have barely any due to my RNG never being good so I need to buy the stuff I want so I'm poor. Starting to wish I knew the cheese before unlocking the hall.
-
Should use them purple weeds from the Dreaming City
-
Bungie are using the sneaky EA Games tactic. It’s a shame really, I thought Bungie was better than that. Bad Bungie, Bad.
-
Im confused, didn't Activision leave Bungo's bed? Also, let them spend their bright dust, in future contents there would be cosmetic items from eververse they would like to adquire and, since dismantling eververse items given by the lvlup engrams won't turn into bright dust anymore, they'll have to find another way to get some bright dust like completing an eververse bounty for 25 bright dust or straight cash in with silver. Is all good.
-
Lol it's only 5 trophies out of 50.
-
This is legit pay to win so I agree with this
