Perfect Paradox is still second best kinetic shotgun in the game after Threat Level, simply by virtue of its archetype (although the roll happens to ge really good too). Even without a y2 mod slot.
This is mathematical fact, btw.

Rapid frame shotguns arent the best option anymore. If we talk about maths...dmg output, dps and ammo economy, imperial decree archetype is an overall better choice than any rapid frame shotguns. They used to be great, they are average at best now.

Rapid Fire is still the best dps archetype in the game, even after the shotgun changes. However I forgot the new Menagerie shotgun can roll with Tench Barrel. That may or may not change things. I wouldn't be surprised if it still loses to Rapid Fire frames in dps, but overall damage output will definitely be higher (albeit slower).

And thats where you wrong. Trench barrel on the menagerie shotgun or one two punch on a last man standing surpasses the dps from EP or threat Level. And by a lot. Trench barrel isnt a perk that suits rapid fire frames shotguns now.

Nope. Just tested it again earlier today, and a Rapid Fire frame with zero perks active does almost identical dps as Imperial Decree with Trench Barrel procced (literally almost identical). And that's in a vacuum. Add in real world factors like mag size and reload time and the Rapid Fire frame pulls ahead. Bear in mind this is dps, not overall damage. I don't have a Last Man Standing with One-Two Punch so I can't test that. For the record, Trench Barrel became somewhat bad on a Rapid Fire frame the moment they nerfed the perk, even before the shotgun changes. You did higher dps (but lower overall damage) by NOT proccing the perk on that archetype. After the shotgun changes, the gap widened and Trench Barrel became really bad on that archetype.

yea imperial degree can roll with feeding frenzy as well. If i didn't have a last man standing with 1-2 punch I'd use my imperial degree with feeding frenzy and trench barrel Both are game changers. Im done with rapid fire shottys

Check out the imperial decree videos with assault mag, full auto & trench barrel. The thing absolutely melts bosses & all Major's. I have the roll myself & quickly put my perfect paradox back in the vault. Threat level still gets some use by me tho
