I got my bounties done way before the quest was finished. In previous seasons, I would have got a full set of armor from the bounties, but instead I had to grind for hours more just to get armor I already own, and that I would have already received from bounties in previous seasons. I look forward to Iron banner everytime, but this grind left me bored and frustrated, especially while solo queuing in the current matchmaking.
I really liked iron banner last season (aside from the iron burden acting as the way to get the most powerful reward) and I understand with the removal of Iron Burden that the developers felt they needed a way to spice things up in the banana, but tying previously easier achievements to a longer and harder questline did not make the activity more interesting for me.
I liked that the sparrow, shaders, and emblem were all rewards from doing triumphs rather than being random drops or from deleted pieces of gear so props to Bungie for that. I always like receiving rewards from accomplishments rather than from RNG. These rewards serve as status symbols to the people around you and make you feel like you have accomplished something by wearing your beautiful shaders. The armor is also tied to a quest, but these reward feel like they should stay tied to bounties like in previous seasons, especially because this armor is from year one and many people who are avid fans of iron banner will already have it from year one. Not to mention that this quest must be done once per character, so multiply the time it took for one quest completion by 3 and that's how long it will probably take to complete all three characters and get all the armor.

The quest is intended to be done over a season, not a single week.
