Sat down with a few of the folks who worked on S7 Iron Banner yesterday, walked through the feeback we’d been seeing here and elsewhere. 1. Quest format works for armor acquisition, but specific steps are not enjoyable- in other words, we see good feedback on how players have a direct path to earn armor, but some specific objectives are very time intensive for a single season 2. Grenades, as a “verb”, are difficult objectives to complete - this step takes a very long time compared to others 3. The quest being character scoped would feel better if the quest was easier to complete. As it stands, players are giving feedback that this feels like a quest meant to be account scoped 4. Iron Banner engram now has quite a bit of loot, making it hard to get random rolls on the things you care about What else do you like or dislike about the quest? Sound off!

  • You should cut the amount of grenadeand scout rifle kills you need in half. I spent.... Well crap, lost track of the amount of hours I spent on getting grenade kills and only got 43%. Kind of ridiculous and I don't mind grinding quest steps. The rest of the quest doesn't bother me, even the part where you have to do it per character. It gives me something to do with my other characters

  • Should of had the quest steps completed proactively like with mountain top, and progress be account wide instead of character.

  • As someone who does not enjoy crucible at all and iron banner even less I avoid it at all costs , the objectives for the gear is way over the top when I can earn 3x as much in PvE twice as fast and with a lot less BS involved . I think you have spent too much time catering the iron banner for those who do nothing but grind PvP and you have taken it too far , if it takes more than 5 matches to earn one piece of legendary gear then screw that I have 50 other things that I would rather do .

  • I just think this quest is like an old married couple going through 'the motions' because it's Tuesday nite. It's hollow and uninteresting. No imagination. No lore. No building of anything but despair and frustration. Couldn't you have a quest where every match 1 person on team at random had an aura. If you beat that players efficiency... you gain progress. Do that for each weapon type. Bungie is stuck in a rut.

  • I dont care about the quest.Iron banner has been ruined by being control each time.All of my friends,the kids who used to slather the forums and all the players that have since moved on used to be EXCITED to hear what mode IB would be next and until it isn't CONTROL anymore you guys won't add interest to it by inventing some ongoing quest for little reward.Go ahead and add it,but to make IB great again,you need to start by rotating modes,I don't know why you tinker and fix what ain't broke.

Sound off![/quote] Maybe let us turn in our Y1 sets (all 5 pieces to be eligible) to get a year 2 equivalent, if i worked hard to get that Y1 sets i shouldn't get told "oh well here's a quest to get you the updated set... It'll take a while" Keep the quest for those who did not have those armor pieces or all 5, also why aren't these added to the loot pool in postgame rewards? Saladin engrams? His bounties?? You had 3 different ways (+ the quest, makes 4) to award us the updated gear... But instead have us do a quest that's absurdly long, I'm thinking this quest was meant for people with just one guardian because there's no way, none, that someone can just slowly work on it , every IB, on 3 seperate characters and get it done by the time September arrives 🤦‍♂️

    The quest is fine, the grenade kills part was poorly thought out. No grenade kills on 1 hit.. thrown one and 90% of the time the combatants just walk through them. It needs to be a smaller amount of grenades or they need a buff. Other than that it's been a fine addition. Outside of the armor perks being absolutely horrible. Zero synergy...

  • You just dont get it? Yeah it can roll with Enhanced perks but none of the combos I have seen work together. Scout Rifle loader, Sidearms reservs, GL scavanger on 1 piece. The another will have completely different perks that dont work with the other. Every piece of gear I have seen so far is just like that. No synergy.

  • Just the return to saladin step and the grenade kill need a fix. Otherwise everything seems fine so far. Not much of my clan have been complaining about anything else so I guess those are the only problems ?

  • There's nothing wrong with this route in my opinion. Just adjust the grenade kills portion and make it account wide for completion. Also where's the updated auto rifle? Granted they're not in the best place but still enjoyed pulling it out of the collection and using it. Good work on making the Banner relevant for me personally.

  • I think the quest is great, because when you ignore it and don't bother, you'll only receive weapons from all banner sources. Fantastic, especially when the chance of anything decent is virtually zero anyway....

  • I think the quest idea is interesting, but the armor just isn't worth it. How about leaving armor as a bounty reward and having an IB quest for a really cool, unique reward.

  • Yea man if this was account based I would definitely splurge. I’ve done the first 2 steps on all my characters and kinda just stopped after thinking about how much time this is gonna take. I consider myself pretty hardcore player as well

  • Here's a thought. Stop rewarding garbage connections. Your P2P hybrid is complete rubbish. Innovative you say? Surely you mean "cost effective". I wouldn't have such an issue if you marketed it honestly, rather than label yourselves pioneers.

    How about the lack of FRESH loot. We’ve had the same weapons and armor for like two years now. Can we please just move forward and make a new full set of weapons for every arctype (for instance a 110 handcannon a 140,150,180) and some fresh armor. It can’t be that hard can it? It’s just loot. Also can you please just take Control out of quickplay. If my teammates refuse to cap zones then I don’t want to play control. Keep it for Comp or just iron banner or hey Why not get rid of control completely.
