I don't know what it is, but I almost always do better in the IB than in Quickplay. My K/D goes way up. It feels like I'm playing against players more evenly matched to me, instead of the experts I seem to face in Quickplay.

For me, the matches are: either my team wins by 75, or loses by 75. Rarely anything in between.

We must be playing different games because for me it's been an absolute cesspool of individuals with terrible connection.

Also the meta has been non existent on xbone iron banner. I counted 2 dust rock blues and 5 lunas howls over the course of 63 games. (On my hunter) On my warlock I saw only 1 set of meta on my first game. All other games? Fusions, scouts, autos. (Even before most get to that quest step) 110 HCs and 140 HCs. Sadly I use recluse and my service revolver with crazy range. But my KD has either been crazy high or just below breaking even.

It is because Banner has the SBMM that the game should have everywhere but they took out to allow a place for streamers to get clips.
-
SBMM will do that. It's nice for lower skilled players, but it becomes a nightmare the higher you go. Connections become worse and matches become sweatier with people using whatever they can to win at all costs.
-
For me, it's been great. In Quickplay I look like a below average scrub at times. In the IB, I look above average. LOL.
-
I mostly solo queue because my Clanmates can't keep up at higher levels, so it sucks for me. I usually just grind out what I want from the first IB of the Season and then ignore the rest of them. I'm glad others are enjoying it, but it's just a miserable experience for me since I don't take PvP very seriously and my stats make my lobbies a chore.

Sbmm all the way
-
Iron Banner is Skill Based matchmaking while QP is Connection Based. Iron Banner has always been the superior PvP experience.
-
If only SBMM could be the universal standard. It sucks to go from IB to QP and realize how I'm either crushing or being crushed, there's no feeling of even ground.

Edited by Nell421: 6/22/2019 11:58:10 PMI used to agree with that but I changed my mind very quickly after some dude in IB who either has a potato for a router or must be playing in some goddamn cave in the congo saw me from across the map, popped his super (arc staff), took a sniper to the face and 4 handcannon headshots, and the lagported over to me and I kid you not killed me in .2 seconds with full health. Not to mention the other dozens of times in which I can't even get hitmarkers on dudes in real time because they take damage from my shots longer after they've killed me. This has only ever happened to me in IB. If they ever want to make sbmm the standard I demand that they either increase the connection quality requirements for people to play, or do what Black Ops 2 did and prevent your character from moving at all when your connection drops out. As it is it's just not fair and for some reason seemingly rewards players for having shitty connection.
-
Somehow the people who hate playing against their equals convinced Bungie that removing sbmm would create better connections. Except now we have the same lag with a smaller QP playerbase and it's only fun for the top players. I have a feeling those cowards who love farming in QP are going to get a rude awakening next season. If they'd give us a choice between sbmm and cbmm in the menu I'd love watching cbmm dwindle and stagnate.
-
It was but Streamers and Sweats all cried cause they had no easy matches. So it was removed from QP in favor of Connection. Now I rarely do any PvP unless Banner is up.
-
When aren't they the root of just how bad our PVP experience is. It's a shame we'll probably never get SBMM put in as the main matchmaking system ever again.
