Too often I find myself wondering why I even have tried to attain the pinnacle weapons that I have, because they ultimately get nerfed, or fall out of favor because something else that isn’t a pinnacle weapon is greater than it.
I believe pinnacle weapons should actually require a grind, a questline, and provide a weapon that makes you feel like you’ve accomplished something. Not Forgotten used to feel that way, Mountaintop feels that way, and Loaded Question feels that way. Every other pinnacle weapon is lacking in that it either doesn’t stand out against other legendary weapons, or the grind is so easy that everyone can attain it.
For example; In my personal experience, Revoker sucks. The handling is poor, and it doesn’t reward the skill or effort it takes to attain the weapon. If someone is skilled with the weapon, when will the exclusive perk become worth something?
A perk that would’ve been nice with such a sniper is that if I kill someone with a headshot, I get my shot back instantly. That would reward me for my skill, without breaking the game.
If you want to provide a weapon that is considered the pinnacle of loot for any given season, it needs to be worth my time. It doesn’t have to be better than exotics, but it certainly needs to be worthy of choice over some random weapon from some other endgame activity. If the creators are bereft of ideas, perhaps consider reaching out to players.
