Which PvP Pinnacle Weapons Should I Go For First?

Hello! This Season I plan on taking my first real dive into PvP finally. I want to be a multifaceted player in Destiny. In order for me to stick with it, I need something to chase, a weapon, on top of just telling myself that I'm "playing to learn". - I try to always be efficient as well, so what pinnacle weapon should I actively work towards first and so on? I imagine I should leave Revoker for last as I can get Sniper kills along the way or outside of Comp later on. I also don't want to wait too long up the Comp Ranks to start trying to do the Luna's quest steps. - Recommendations? - EDIT: ANSWERED I'll leave what was suggested here for others asking the question as well... - • Luna's Howl and Mountaintop first (Handcannon and Grenade Launcher loadout) • You'll get Recluse along the way and progress towards Revoker that you can then do the Sniper Kills in Quickplay or elsewhere

  • Recluse and Mountain top are probably the most useful in general. Luna's Howl is good, but not as good as it was. Mountain Tops quest is very long. Some tips: Having a "Militias Birthright" or any non heavy GL helps out a bunch. that way you dont need to wait for heavy all the time. Having a play of the game with blast radius, volitile launch and prox nades is the best. You can easily one shot guardians and potentially get 4 kills per brick. The best place to get kills is Mayhem. Use a tether with Orpheus Rigs. Either tether a few and kill one with GL, they all die. Another option for 3 kills in one life, Use top tree tether, use it as a lure. Shoot at the close side of a corner, you back up around another corner so you cant be seen. When an enemy is lured in by the tether, they get snagged and you blast them with MB or Fighting Lion. Its still a grind, but i find its a steady way to make progress Recluse is pretty easy to do, just need to get to Fabled basically, the wins will happen naturally. Some Comp tips: Go into private matches to learn names of map locations, good for when you play in a team. That can help with map knowledge and then you can also practice jumps and how to travel around the map. Playing in the mornings can be easier than in the evenings. Using meta weapons and a strong offensive super definitely helps. If you cant find good people in LFG to play with, its probably because their skill level is better than yours (no offense meant), I also run into this issue. I have an approximate 1.2 KD and 1.7 KDA. I try to use solo matchmaking help me find friends. If you play a match and you like one or two people you played with, send them a "GG" good game, and ask if they would like to party up and play together. Why I think this is a good idea, Bungie matched you up with them, they probably have a similar skill level and are in a similar spot in grinding glory. Learn strategies for "Countdown", usually kill an enemy and rush the survivors. Don't arm the bomb unless you kill one of theirs first. Practice in Rumble or QP new weapons and supers Practice in Rumble your one on one skills. If you cant kill one person by yourself, it will be much harder for you to help out your team.. Probably common knowledge, If you are the only one with a super, that can be a great time to use yours. No one around to counter you easily with a super of their own. Also you start generating orbs for your team mates so they can get their supers going. Try to use the bonus points to your advantage. You just need to play 3 games a week to get 120-160 points a week. 12 weeks at 120 points is 1440. That is 2/3 of the points that you need. Luna’s if you like handcannons. You will basically auto-get recluse if you get Luna’s. Mountaintop is godly in PvE but the quest requires you to smash your head into the wall 100 times without developing CTE so attempt at your own risk If I had to choose one it would be recluse though

    • Luna and mountain top have the longest quest which includes steps other than hitting 2100, so if you focus on those, you will get recluse too in the meantime. The earlier you do the quest steps for Luna, the easier it will be.

      • The recluse is a great all-round gun to chase for and all you need to do is win and reach fabled(2100 poonts). I would also recommend to work on Luna's while you work on the other guns due to its many steps.
