Raids need seperate difficulties, so everyone can enjoy them no matter their handicap. You will be rewarded more for doing difficult stuff and less for less difficult stuff. Example: Flawless completion guarantees the Raid exotic, regular completion gives you a chance. The easier version gives you one single drop upon completion and it could be anything. Didnt people used to do drunk Raids back in the day? So much for that now.

  • I did a run of Last Wish that I cant even remember because I was so blasted. An LFG run too. I had no idea I'd done it until I logged on and found a bunch of raid gear, checked Raid Report and sure enough - I raided. Wife confirmed I faceplanted into bed around the ungodly hour I'd have finished it. 😂

  • I remember waking up after a very drunken raid between one Christmas and new year. Drunken Santa brought me my first universal remote and my first vex!

I’d actually raid every week if there was a version that played out like The Menagerie that offered only a single raid reward a week. I’d actually raid every week because they would actually be fun to me. The synchronized swimming mechanics with auto wipes for not being perfect are super annoying and the opposite of fun to me.

  • Yea, I mean Last Wish does something similar with the Wish Wall for a single piece of free Raid Loot a week so it isn't that farfetched. Having a Raid milestone like we had previously that with a Raid mode that acted like the Menagerie and also the Last Wish solo chest, it would also teach people the mechanics along the way to prepare them for the regular Raid for more rewards if they choose to seek it, and not be locked behind content they can't participate in. There is only a benefit to this, there is no downside.

  • Yep. Couldn’t agree more. The “downside” that people will cite is that it’s too easy to get good gear. “You have to earn it” and blah blah blah is what they’ll say. Even though it wouldn’t prevent them from doing so AND getting more each week than others because they chose to do the harder version with more rewards. I wish people weren’t so quick to reduce the game to a chore and shit on other people’s idea of fun. They just want to feel “special” by having things others don’t.
They just want to feel “special” by having things others don’t.
This is the biggest pile of bullshit I see get vomited forth endlessly on here. What people are concerned about is people begging for regular raids to be made easier (watch what happens when heroic menagerie drops). And before you lump me into your frankly insulting insinuation, I popped several hundred raid cherries in D1 and I've popped ~100 in D2. Many of which I did lootless purely because I wanted to see someone get some good drops. But yeah, sound off.

  • If someone getting something one way doesn’t negate your ability to get it the way that you want to, how does that negatively affect you?

  • Did you seriously not read my post? Its not about other people getting loot, if it was I wouldnt have spent hours of my time helping other people get loot for the sheer hell of hearing them be happy when they got a good drop. Read my post properly please.

If not that, then what reason is there to not have differing versions that offer less loot? That’s what the OP was talking about. Because every time this comes up it ALWAYS comes down to “well they have to earn it” and “it wouldn’t be fair to people who do the harder version.” That’s a self imposed entitlement mentality. If there was a more accessible version of raids with matchmaking that were set up like The Menagerie and players could get A SINGLE piece of raid gear a week by doing it, how would that affect the people that want to do the regular version and get 4-5 pieces of raid gear a week? It wouldn’t, so what reason is there to not have something like this?

You haven’t made a point. If what I said doesn’t apply to you, if you don’t think the way that I suggested many do, then you didn’t need to respond in the first place. You’d be one of the VERY few that doesn’t eventually resort to doing what I said. It happens nearly EVERY time this comes up. If you aren’t opposed to what the OP and I have suggested, then again, there’s no need to negatively chime in. If you are opposed, I’d love to hear why as long as you don’t resort to doing what I said.

  • Nah mate, its the very few who say what you say they do. Most people are simply concerned that the next move is "BuNgIe NeRf ThE rAiD"

Not asking for that. Asking for an additional, more accessible version that offers less rewards. Significantly less, even. A SINGLE reward per week. That way more people will actually raid as well and the completion numbers wouldn’t be so abysmal.

  • The concern is that the nerf requests will be the follow-on.

Well, they don’t have to answer to those. I don’t know why anyone would expect that they would anyway. They barely listen to these sorts of things. Most people just want options. Not a replacement. Which I think is a reasonable request.

  • I'd accept that more readily had the Zero Hour quest not been met with a considerable number of nerf requests. I expect the exact same will happen when Heroic Menagerie drops.

Probably. I don’t think that mission should be nerfed as much as I just loathe timers. I think timers should be reserved for special challenge versions of things that award cosmetic rewards that represent bragging rights. When it comes to things like Whisper and Zero Hour I’d rather have to do it 5 weeks in a row, by myself even, even if it takes me over an hour each time, than to sit and try to beat a timer a bunch of times in a row for several hours. That’s not fun to me at all. And that’s what I want the game to be over anything else. Fun. I’ll wait until the heroic version of Menagerie drops before I decide whether I think it should have matchmaking or not. If the heroic version has failure for not completing an encounter, then I get why it has no matchmaking. If it’s just a harder version in that it has harder enemies and is a higher power level, then I think it should still have matchmaking.
