Official Bungie/ Destiny 2 Complaint

Dear Bungie support team, Reference/ In-game name: UKTitan01 On date 8th June 2019 at approximately 15:30 BST my account with in-game name “UKTitan01” received an account ban during the Shattered Throne [PvE] strike for some unknown reason to myself. This ban is therefore restricting my access to the game in which I have paid approximately £200 for since day one and sunk 419 hours of gameplay into. No reason for this ban has been given as described in your ban information section. However, as a UK citizen this lack of information is against the UK’s legal “Consumer Rights Act 2015” and therefore means your digital product is no longer of a satisfactory quality and that I should receive a full refund for the product if suitable reasons for the block on digital content are not provided. This is an official complaint for the Bungie support team and I request that this be discussed either by phone or e-mail correspondents to discuss whether this is a legitimate account ban, whether it is permanent or a time restricted ban, and the cause and possible rectification to prevent it happening again. This is outrageous that I have not received any justification for this wrongful ban and have been racking my brain for days on the reason why this occurred with the only sane reasons for the wrongful ban of my account being: Occasional disconnection (every 18-20 games due to Wi-Fi lose) or trolls/toxic players reporting my account for no justifiable reason. No hacking or cheat software has been used on this account and can be shown to be true with PvP and PvE stats through API tracker websites such as “DestinyTracker.com”. I do sincerely hope the support team gets back to me and the amazing Destiny 2 player base continues to support me through such an arduous time were I can no longer play my beloved Titan in game. I would in no way endanger my ability to play Destiny 2 due to the following reasons; - My love of the game - My morals and support of anti-cheating programs in the gaming environment - The leadership position of my clan with 55 active hand picked members - 419+ hours of gameplay - Monetary support of the game since launch of £200 - Ability to continue streaming D2 on my twitch channel - By refraining from toxic or abusive behaviour to other D2 players. I therefore hope that the Destiny 2 support team will see this and the D2 players will help to get it seen so that justification can be reached over this matter. Kind Regards, Chris “UKTitan01”

Did you get the 2 week and 2 month suspensions? The occasional lag out while using WIFI probably means that you are probably laggy all the time for all of your opponents. If you ever decide to play Destiny again, try to go hard wired, it may fix your issues. Whoa, we are official now.

    •
Occasional disconnection (every 18-20 games due to Wi-Fi lose)
I would say this right here may be the issue. I know you stated above, that disconnects happen about every 18-20 games or so, but are there any chances you experienced disconnects more frequently than this? Is switching from Wi-Fi to a wired connection a possibility for you by chance? Depending where I am at in my house, (my room, or the office) i will switch between wi-fi and wired. I try an almost always play on a wired connection when doing anything PvP related. When I'm playing PvE, i'll usually play in my room on Wi-Fi. Sorry you lost your account!

As someone who has put over thousands of hours and dollars into the game as well as other products of bungie I'm here to support @UKTitan. Over a year of knowing this guy, I can contest that he is pretty vanilla and wouldn't do anything to jeopardize his account.

        • Four words, one acronym. End-user license agreement EULA. That thing you agree to in order to play? Yeah that overrules the consumer rights act since it’s like a contract. You agreed to explicitly mentioned terms including that Bungie has no obligation to explain reasoning or justification behind account termination to you. You don’t come to attack with legal arguments, against a business you agreed to legal terms with. That’s just dumb, to be fully honest. Sorry about what happened to you, though.

          • You're banned, and that's that. You will not get a refund.

            • Bungie does not discuss restrictions or bans. Restrictions are temporary, and will not be overturned or undone before they expire. Once an account is banned however, that ban is permanent. Account restrictions and bans are only done in extreme cases; if actions were taken against your account, then it was with reason. There are NO options to dispute or overturn account restrictions or bans. Bans are lifetime for that account https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11929 https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/47715

              • Does it say ban or restricted? In the ToS which everyone is required to agree to before playing states "Bungie has the right to terminate your license to the game at anytime WITHOUT reason." Bungie also will NOT discuss or overturn a ban or restriction. Refunds must go through your retailer.

                • Did you have any cheat/hack/mod/trainer software open (even if it was for another game)?
