Do you enjoy Crucible? Why or why not?
I would appreciate feedback below. I encourage discussion, not ranting about "casuals, tryhards, whiners, etc."

1 ReplyTLDR - I'm loving it man! I'm a very new Destiny 2 player in general never having played Destiny 1 (or just Destiny?). I've played for a few months now I believe and stayed away from PVP the entire (short) time I've played. Well today was the second time I jumped into Crucible to get my 5 game powerful gear reward. Once that was done, I found myself jumping back in. I'm level 50, 740-something power and as basic a collection of weapons and armor as they come, but I truly had a blast playing crucible. I had no idea what I was doing or how the maps were laid out so I just stuck with as many teammates as I could keep up with and tried to kill as many red guys as I could focus on. I apologize for anybody that might have gotten me on a team but I tried and even got a few kills which was fricken awesome! It was a blast and a fun adrenaline rush. Now I'm even wondering if that ol Ace of Spades quest might actually be a possibility for me! Will try Gambit (and Prime) tomorrow and see how it goes. Excited for Shadowkeep for sure!

Iron Banner: my secondary character is only 40 with less than 500 light. Please either match me with people my light (like Vanguard Strikes) or buff my character? No fun endlessly being killed in one shot because of level 50s with 700 light. Like others have mentioned its no fun stuck in a match that you do nothing but spawn in.

Yes, but it needs a ton of new maps and some new modes. I thought crucible labs was going to be a thing, but it never really happened.

1 ReplyYou know, I would like to say I like crucible, but the fact that single casual players get beaten repeatedly in Comp by pro or semipro teams using one or two loadouts drives me to put the game down and find something else. To add insult to injury, there's a penalty for those of us who simply don't want to get our guts punched and then get kicked while we're down, specifically for a half hour or more. Tbh, crucible isn't fun anymore, i only play to try for the pinnacle weapons (spoiler: I have zero of them), so its only a drag.

No I do not. I am a PvE player and I liked D1 PvP. Even then I avoided the game mode. Enjoyed iron banner in D1. Never tried trials of the nine much as I wanted the weapons. In all honesty I really feel PvP in D2 drags down the PvE experience in the sandbox.

When I'm in a match and it feels like the match can go either way. To me that's fun. When I go into a match and it's one sided even if I'm on the winning team that isn't fun.

I’m not that good at PVP but can pull off some good games every now and then. I just find dying to the same thing over and over again annoying.

I put no cause I’m a causal player when I play. And so the engram is worth the 5 matches but not worth the grief you get from letting a team down or constantly getting destroyed and there is no getting good at the crucible for me.

One day out of the week yes. Because it's not as fun as it was in D1? Nerfed grenades, small maps, and it's killing pve.

I love it cause there’s a lot more weapons and weapon types to play with. I like to try out different combos like a bow and a hand cannon, a slug shotty and sub machine gun, or even a sniper and shotty. Plus, if I feel like I do well with those weapon combos in quickplay, I’ll take it into comp and go full sweat. I also really enjoy grinding for a high kd ratio. Even tho I have nothing to show for it, I think of it as a little personal trophy.

I wanted to see what you guys had to say about this expansion but seeing how crucible is and players happy about it makes me glad I wont bother coming back, crucible used to be so good, I cant believe most of you still like the way it is right now.

I used to, until The Taken King. Then it was just "eh." Too many snipers, not enough primaries. Then Rise of Iron came along and irreparably -blam!-ed up PvP. *Poof!* All fun was just GONE, and it still hasn't found its way back to us.

Sometimes it's a fun little time waster, a nice place to try out the newest gun I have and to see how well it plays. Other times I blink and die, or get killed while in my super In my opinion the crucible achieves what it set out to do, PvP where you can try out different armor and weapons to see what you like. Want to get into it hard core style? Well be prepared, because just like every other PvP game you'll find the OP no skill weapon or class and blame the devs for being the worst designer ever [spoiler]damn you warden from for honor... Damn you[/spoiler]

There aren't enough maps and most of them are too small for very good sniping or scouts

Iron Banner is the only mode I play regularly. Maybe the odd QP match for a bounty but that's it. The matchmaking needs serious work in Comp and QP before I go back to playing regularly.

Then D2 launched and I despised the entire shitty, boring mess including IB, which was just more of the same boring mess. Then they brought IB back to almost decent in Forsaken, and reworked weapons to be more viable and make death balling a no go, and I liked it again... but they destroyed matchmaking... 2 steps forward, one step back. Sometimes I still enjoy IB or Competitive in the hours when the lazy teams of cowards running Dust Rock, NF, and Wardcliff doing account recoveries and paid carries are asleep. That's a pretty shitty way to run pvp though. They still don't have proper mode choice either. So yes, I enjoy crucible. I don't enjoy what Bungie has done in D2 crucible though. They haven't done a single thing right for pvp QoL in D2. How can they fix it? Easy. Bring back mode choice and do away with the rotating playlists. Modes rotate in weekly or daily, but left side is sbmm, right side is cbmm. Pinnacle pvp weapons are earnable in either side. Don't require "wins" for pinnacle weapons... instead require personal feats to be met like in D1. Every other problem will sort itself out and meta weapons will only be an issue for the tryhards who love elo. If they just have to have the rotating playlists, instead of qp and competitive make them sbmm and cbmm. Rank based is stupid.
