Jesus let the damn thing be released before you rework it. Luna, Mountaintop, and Recluse didn’t seem particularly impressive until people got their hands on them

exactly, yesss thank u
-
Only reason I'm saying rework is because I don't think a pinnacle weapon should reward the player for a missed shot especially a sniper which is a weapon that has the highest skill gap in the game.
-
Yeah, but snipers are innately high skill/risk, high reward weapons. If you give it perks that give it body shot damage or better aim assist after kills then it never helps out the majority of non-elite snipers. Additionally, a sniper designed like Recluse or Luna’s would be violently broken in the hands of a good sniper. Going with a perk that lessens the punishment of a missed shot will help everyone, even the best snipers, and will make more people try sniping. It’s a fairly balanced idea it seems
-
I mean I guess, but you rarely ever see a really skilled sniper nowadays compared to D1. And that high damage shot comes from a 3 precision kill streak so you wouldn't see it very often and maybe just throw away that part that increases target acquisition but keep the increased handling speed, we just need more weapons that can deal with the insane health that supers have now. We will have to wait and see but I just hope it comes with more than just giving the player their shots back. All of the crucible pinnacle weapons so far have been rewarding the player for their success, I just don't know how I feel about one rewarding the player for failure.
-
u dont land every shot in pvp dude, i main a sniper and i tend to miss sometimes, i can say i land a good 7 of 10 sniper shots, so those 4 that i miss would really come in handy, i just hope it comes with short zoom and snapshot sights or something
-
I'm not saying I land every shot but that's why I like using them. They offer a challenge that most weapons don't.
-
I get that, and I don’t think your idea would be too overpowered. It’s just hard to make a pinnacle weapon that’s attractive to most crucible players, that’s better than a legendary but not enough to be an exotic, and won’t break the game but is still worthy going after. For reference (IMO) Not good enough: Oxygen, Redrix Fairly Balanced: Breakneck, 21%, Loaded Question Very strong, close to OP: Recluse (OP in PvE) Blatantly too strong: Luna/NF, Mountaintop (Mainly PvE) It’s tough to make a weapon to fit that middle ground, and it seems like the crucible pinnacle weapons are the hardest ones to create
-
Yeah, I agree with all of that. I think it's difficult to think of unique weapons that are fun and effective but won't break the game.
-
And I think it’s easier for weapons that are easy to use, like Recluse or Redrix. They are fairly noob-friendly weapon types, so making them better helps everyone. If they made a sniper or LFR that rewarded high skill, it would be a hit within the comp community, but the general community would scream for a nerf
