The fallen are in the midst of a full scale battle for the iron throne
Meanwhile, Eris, the Queen and the drifter are preparing for the coming of Thanos' fleet
we're simultaneously playing Thor to Prince Uldren's Loki-esque redemption story
... black panther to zavala and ikoras civil war in the midst of the death of cayde
...cayde left a bigger mystery about his life and the exo and the deep Stone crypt
... We're playing peacemaker to Ada's century old grudge against guardians
The psions are in the midst of what appears to be a complete cabal rebellion
And Rasputin has straight up Sansa Stark'd his and mars' independence from the rest of the solar system
Not to mention some space gods, their version of missandei and pet Xur have taken an interest in us for some reason
My goodness.

Not to mention the Darkness hints. Like seriously, if done correctly, the Darkness could be the best gaming rival in recent years. Besides Sub-Zero and Scorpion of course

Edited by HellfireEclipse: 5/25/2019 6:09:44 PMWhat story telling? Play uncharted to see storytelling. Play God of War to see storytelling.

Edited by The Guy: 5/26/2019 4:56:29 PMStill prefer D1 for overall gameplay, by far.

I just hope this all leads somewhere

Good comparisons. I would like to correct the part about the Psions, though. Ready for a story? The Psions were originally enslaved by the Cabal and enlisted as soldiers. During the rule of Calus, a group of freeborn Psions (basically Psions that weren’t born under Cabal rule and were like rebels) created a machine to look through time and space. Calus defeated them and destroyed the machine, but let the freeborn Psions join the Cabal army without being enslaved like the others. Their leader was given a very high rank and served at Calus’ side. Later in Calus’ rule, Calus planned on freeing all Psions. The leader of the freeborn Psions was a mind-reader (which is basically normal for Psions) and discovered Calus’ plan. She didn’t like that, because it would mean she and her freeborn would lose their superiority over other Psions. So she aided Ghaul in the Midnight Coup. Since then, she served Ghaul and the only splits between the Psions and Cabal have been those who serve Calus and those who serve Ghaul. There is no Psion rebellion (though there were recently rebellions among all Cabal units as Ghaul Loyalists and Calus Loyalists fought)
The psions are in the midst of what appears to be a complete cabal rebellion
As much as I’d like to see this happen; don’t believe there’s been any hints apart from the cut original script of destiny

No we cannot. You are in the bungie.net Lore section. We will appreciate it every day even if it is force fed to the younger whippersnapper generations to come.

How wonderful it is to be a lore master
-
But what about Tony Stank?
-
And we become the new taken king killing everyone the defies us
-
Ikora Burns down the tower because the bells
-
Now if only they hired someone who could figure out how to put this in the game. The lore is completely wasted. All we do is run around grinding chores to increase our light level, armor and weapons that we JUST leveled up via rng based chores. The disconnect between lore and game play in this game is absurd.
-
Idk what story
-
And all of that just barely makes it into the actual game, if at all. The story/lore in the lore books is good, yes. The representation in gameplay means is underwhelming or nonexistent most of the time.

Edited by Zelrons: 5/24/2019 5:11:16 AMComparing the writing in D2 and GoT may not actually be that far off. Both are terrible with no respect for their own characters.

*a destiny version of the GoT theme starts playing* [welp, I’ll just figure out who I want to stay alive and side with them.]
-
You left out the part about Luke Smiths undead army......
-
Oh if only everyone read the lore.
-
Ah, I see another Chronicler.

Ahamkara=Dragons! Fuk yah!

Yet here we are killing that same acolyte again for the 100th week in a row.
