While I do somewhat agree with that video, the problem really isn't the nerf to the most powerful weapons and armor, it's the fact that we've got trash exotics and armor that need to be fixed/reworked/buffed first since a nerfed Ursa is better than a current Stronghold.

I'm hope Red Death returns next season, I know that's a big strech with crimson in the game, because it was my very first exotic. A high risk/ high reward pulse that said "Hey, you hit all your precision shots, you deserve to live" I remember getting shot twice in the head by the House of Wolves version of Thorn and living to tell the tale just because I hit my shots.

I want a pinnacle sidearm

Sidearms as a whole need a bit of love, at least here on console, so I'm not sure how well that would work.... Maybe have a full auto sidearm with a multi-killclip/ swashbuckler hybrid perk?
