Concerning the Vex

Why are they so lame? Like in game they aren’t the “indestructible machines outside of time” but rather “Weirdo robots that do a funny dance and shoot pretty lasers” like... why would the vex not just use giant robots all the time? Why bother with shittier versions of stuff that is already boss. I get specialists but why not make generalists better since they’re eusocial robots.

  • The vex we often fight are more or less basic units. Think of them as keys for a keyboard on a computer, or a pixel of data on a screen. The big beefy vex are the main processing units for the computer, or the hand that types. It’s expensive and resource exhausting to build types that are large, not to mention they would need or be tailored for a specific situation. So the vex we fight are more or less jack of all trades, their primary goals first and foremost: Construction. Combat is often regarded as a secondary function, which makes me believe that the forces in Sol are nothing more than just research units, not conquerers.

The Vex always follow the most efficient route. The fact that they haven’t made any effort at all to exterminate us means they want us around. All the Vex in our system are mere construction frames, and all they’ve done is convert Mercury, Nessus, and partially Venus. They converted these planets without any resistance. They keep to themselves and hardly do anything in our system. They’re not even trying. If they decide it’s time to take action, we’ll be in trouble. The Vex are referred to as indestructible, not because one Vex unit is hard to kill, but because no matter what you do the Vex can’t be stopped. The Vex Collective cannot be destroyed. There are always more.

    • The Vex in our solar system aren't designed for combat, they're builders. They see us a so little of a threat that they aren't even gonna waste their actual soldiers on us That was in D1, they're definitely pissed off now

The Vex we see are just construction workers.....like technicians, engineers, and such. Their weapons aren't even weapons to them....they're just transmitters, relays, and hammers being used improperly. Crota struggled with the combat units and nearly died....until Oryx came and saved his ass. Oryx did beat them...but it took him a while. The Vex could send their combat units at us....but so far they've needed us quite a few times. "Why kill something when it could benefit you?" type of deal. They need us to deal with Taken and Hive leadership.....such as Savathun and Xivu. Quria still has a will of it's own...so it might still be sided with The Collective. Then eventually.... destroy The Darkness....somehow.

The Vex we encounter and fight in Destiny are literally just Construction frames. Essentially, the reason they dont just deploy War frames is because they would either succeed in wiping us out, leading to an eventual Losing-Conflict with the Darkness, or Provoke the Traveler, leading to a Losing-Conflict with the Light. The Vex War frames could easily steamroll the solar system negative difficulty, but it would be counterproductive to their overall survival and goals. So yea we’ve been using Paracasual powers to fight a Multi-Planet war against what are essentially City-Workers, and we havent been winning.

              • There’s only a few hundred war build vex frames all were built and then lost in the attack on oryx’s throne The only know “living” war vex is under sav’s control and used medusa to talk to us The vex we encounter are build (like 99.999% of vex) to be builders and use there construction tools as weapons The vex don’t want to kill us BUT to change everything into radiolaria they must attack us Hence why they let us go into the vault of glass in D1 to save it from the taken
