random question. have you messed with the FOV slider at all? im curious if on your settings that use to be good if you turn down your FOV to like 68-72 what happens? Been doing A LOT of testing and just curios if you can reproduce anything similar to me.

  • Many people told me anything above 90 basically puts too much strain. I’ve tried running 90 and lower, but still get FPS drops and stutters even on the lowest settings. Yet, I was running Warframe yesterday at Medium settings and was at a solid 73-75 FPS?

  • really wish we could all gather enough info and maybe have something to point at so if bungie ever decides to listen and do something we could all be like here!! fix this shit!!

Bungie won’t listen!! I’ve literally had this problem a week or 2 before Season of the drifter!! I ran black armory forges fine before! And made constant posts that have been upvoted multiple times and people agreeing. But all I get is the usual crappy reply from the BNG help to delete my CvArS or cap my frames at 30!!!

  • I literally tried everything that they told me multiple times. Deleting my CvArS, deleting my Destiny 2 PC folder!! Nothing!! Works!! I’m tired of it, I just want to enjoy destiny 2 at a solid 75fps or 60fps like I used to :(

  • Me too. Honestly id take a solid 59fps at this point. I also probably need to stop blaming my computer and trying to maximize all the speed i can, which has led to me nearly bricking my comp a few times this month. While it may be time for me to upgrade my CPU , I have almost no faith that putting a new CPU in my comp will help very much if at all, though i really want it to. I know we dont have much hope for things getting fixed or optimized but i still hope things get better for you so you can start enjoying your game how you use to. Crossing my fingers that Opulence doesn't make things even worse, because I really dont seem myself playing more if that happens. id have to move to console to justify the awful frames

Yup. Ive literally tried everything on myPC that I basically almost killed it at one point. At this point I’ve stopped, capped everything at 60 and just played at 60hz. I didn’t go to from console to PC to play at console frame rate!! Sucks so much man, can’t even play at 75fps in D2

  • interesting. thanks for the reply. so my issues seem to kind of disappear if i drop my Fov, stuttering is still kinda there and i still get fps drops but nothing below 58-60 , stuttering is almost completely smoothed out with fov being lowered plus vsync being turned on. Very annoying that im having to lower my setting so much when this wasnt an issue till a few patches into Forsaken for me.This game always ran with no lower than 60fps now in at least 4-5 public areas i can drop to 37 fps or have the worst stutters ever. Feels like an optimization problem. though i am willing to accept it could be my rig , just hard to see other people with almost my same rig getting way better frames than me. Im looking into a new Cpu in the hopes of it just being on my end, but if that doesn't fix it i have little hope that this issues will be resolved. both on my end and bungies . But i think the fact that you, me ,and others are having this problem only in this game truly points to a big issue on Bungies end. I have a weird theory as to why the optimization is so bad now compared to right before forsaken and a bit into forsaken, but we can have that discussion another time. sorry for the rant, just very passionate about this game and its very frustrating when D2 wont run how it is SUPPOSED to.

Don’t worry. I’m passionate about D2. I legit bought my 75hz monitor just to play D2, but I can’t even do that. Yes, this started happening to me like a week before season of the drifter sadly. It is definitely an optimization problem and they need to come out with a Quiality if life update for PC. My game used to run so smooth in in the heaviest areas I’d go to a low of like 58 when I had my 60hz Monitor Now with my 75hz monitor on the lowest settings My FPS drops to like the 40s in small public events such as in Mecury :( I legit was on Warframe with Medium settings yesterday, solid 73-76fps!! And there’s so much going on with abilities, enemies, open areas!!!!

  • i feel like since Vicarious Visions did the pc port and they are a part of Activison and Opulence is the last thing they are working on in D2, that most of their studio is back working for Activison and there just are not enough people still there to help Bungie figure out the pc stuff, or they are only allowed to work on the annual pass stuff before they go back to Activision so Quality of life for PC is basically being ignored. My random theory, since bungie originally made Destiny for console. I could be completely wrong and there might be some info online that will instantly prove me wrong but this is what it feels like to me.
