  • Bosses also seemed to be tankier back then. You can basically one phase everything in D2 or cheese just about everything since we are way more powerful then raid bosses for example

    I'm not saying i'm for nerfs. There appears to be a bigger issue at hand if you can cheese riven for example with rat king or even a green grenade launcher bypassing all the intended mechanics...at that point we are way past weapon balance being the issue.

  • This is a weapon that was working exactly as intended and doing exactly what it was supposed to. It wasn't even the best choice for a lot of encounters. They need to have MORE viable loadouts for encounters if they want more diversity rather than bring down the few good ones we have.

    I don't think it has anything to do with diversity. More on the lines of end game bosses just get deleted in D2 bypassing all intended mechanics created for them by just about any loadout. Nerfs won't solve that issue but at the same time people would lose their minds if bosses were given like 10 million more health... forcing them to actually learn how to do boss fights. The riven fights mechanics for example are actually really awesome.... the amount of people that actually know how to do that fight? Very far and few between. SOTP same thing.. it's a fun boss fight that a lot of teams would struggle with if they couldn't just 1 phase the encounter. Spire? Same issue. Eater of worlds? Same issue. Leviathon? Same issue.

  • You're still not justifying this nerf. Whisper is used when the fight's mechanic has a stand and shoot phase in which you can or are supposed to remain stationary. Calus, Insurrection Prime and Morgeth are where this gun is most used and even then only Insurrection Prime is it actually considered best in slot. You're still doing the bossfight as intended in each of these.

    I'm not trying to justify any nerfs. As i've clearly said there in a much bigger issue at hand in PvE then weapon balance. Actually you really aren't. All those fights you named off have intended mechanics that are bypassed since you can just 1 phase them. As i've already said people would lose their minds if bosses were given like 10 million extra health forcing people to actually learn how to properly do encounters instead of relying on 1 phases. Morgeth for example isn't a wipe if you don't 1 phase that encounter but people don't know how to properly do the encounter so they do just wipe if they don't achieve the 1 phase.

  • You literally just repeat exactly what you did on the first phase with maybe a little extra added if you did too much damage (fire in Throne room on calus) Create real phases with damage gates (like shuro chi) and the problem doesn't exist. Phases should start to be like raids in real mmos where they are actually fully different as you progress. The problem isn't the weapons. It is mechanics design

    Right? Because you can literally cheese every encounter in D2 bypassing every single intended mechanic. People would lose their minds if their were damage gates. I've seen plenty of angry posts in the past about damage gates. You can't please everyone nor should you try to. What the nerfs tell me is this. There will be some pretty epic fights in the new raid where skull/rigs/ursas/shards would've created a relatively cake experience. The boss fights are probably going to have some mechanics where you end up in a stationary fixed position that whisper/sleeper would've cleaned house. I'm excited for some challenge but that's just me. I hate how easy PvE currently is. Everything is literally a joke.

  • We need fights where raw dps isn't such a factor. Stuff like crota where there's a designated damage dealer (obviously designed better than that overall fight) Stuff like King's Fall where it was all heavily mechanical

  • You could 1 phase in both those fights as well. PvE in destiny has never been challenging and that's a shame. They have some talented employees but it's like they are working with one arm tied behind their backs. I mean... around kingsfall they said they cannot make PvE any harder then it already is or the majority of the player base wouldn't be able to complete it.... that mindset hopefully has started to change. Currently you can strong arm your way through everything. Had no clue what I was doing the first time I ran zero hour for example but we forced our way through by popping back to back to back supers since we were 3 sentinels with ursas then sat in the back deleting the boss with whisper.
