Bungie really needs to look back at their D1 armour
I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but a lot of people seem to really dislike the armour in D2.
The armour in D1 was amazing. Was it perfect? No, I remember absolutely hating the TTK Vanguard and Crucible armour sets. That being said the armour sets back then at least look good for the most part.
I miss the armour sets like Dustwalker, Argus/Wolf pelt weave, Iron Companion, Iron banner Y3/Days of Iron, and Trails. They looked magnificent. They looked badass.
The raid gear LOOKED like raid gear and was worth chasing. I still miss and love the Crota’s End Hunter/Warlock and all 3 VoG armour sets to this day.
Then Bungie brought in ornaments and completely raised the bar with how good armour can look. The Age of Triumph raid ornaments were so damn amazing to the point where I was excited to replay old content.
What happened Bungie? Where did the amazing designs go? Sure there are some good looking sets in the D2 but even those sets seem basic compared to what D1 had. The raid gear in D2 looks boring and uninteresting compared to the D1 versions. For example, I was expecting the Last Wish raid armour to look more Ahamkara themed but it ended up being a more ornamental version of Reverie/normal gear.
The regular legendary armour sets either look bad or basic outside of a handful.
Maybe try looking back at some fan favourite D1 armour sets or try looking back at inspiration behind those armour sets. Hell , maybe try looking at some fan armour concepts.
Try to spice things up Bungie.
