the only place they are enjoyable are the well

Ever since j got them they've been pretty useful against bosses.. They were invaluable for the end of the outbreak mission

That’s the issue in PvE though. The exotic is built for bosses but the super is designed for ad clearing. This promotes players to hang onto their super for bosses instead of using it when they get it. Basically instead of complimenting the super, it changes the situation you’d use it in. There are situations where either methods are useful but the solar subclass already has dps exotic in the Celestial Nighthawk. Just my opinion

I don’t get anything back unless I kill everything... seems like my shards just don’t work...

They've been pretty inconsistent with me either way. There have been plenty of times I've run-in on an Ultra and unloaded the Super all over their face.... Alright, the description's getting weird but you get the point. Anyways, I'll land those blades on the Boss and still only get about 2 seconds recovery. And other times, I get nearly my entire Super back. They need to be fixed and I must agree that it should be buffed up just a little more back in PvE.It's really a PvE exotic, anyway, and has almost no purpose, even before the nerf, in PvP.

It's probably the best shutdown super for pvp. Many Tim'es better than Nova bomb, more armor than any other super I believe, little risk of getting yourself killed, and covers the most area. As for pve, I know some people are having issues, so I won't discount that. Just wondering why there's inconsistencies

Not the super. I know how damn effective it is in PvP. I'm talking about the exotic's perk of super regen. Getting enough hits/kills in PvP isn't as noticeable as getting the hits/kills in PvE. In Crucible, you're more likely to hit one or two people with the Blades anytime you use it; whereas, in PvE, you can really see the effect of it when you need to do some major ad clearing or lay damage to a bullet-sponge ultra.

Shards has always (I think) had a random window (2 - 4 seconds) of regen. As far as I know, blade damage (impact or explosion) has no effect of the regen time, so some inconsistency is built in to the exo. I replied to @Evade above regarding issues with PvE performance, if you are interested in my 2c on that. I know pre-nerf these things were broken for PvP and needed to be tuned, but they are in a bad place for PvE.
