Valiant effort here made with a very positive tone. That’s commendable. However, you seem to ignore the notion that infusion cores were put into place specifically to stifle leveling. There’s no other definition of “meaningful choices”. In which case, they actually aren’t easy to get without sacrificing a significant amount of time doing what I actually want to do. You’re basically asking Bungie to fully integrate cores into the economy, such as it is. Ironically, if that had been the goal, it would have been done in the first place. Here’s where your proposal loses water, at least for me - if they just removed cores from infusion, we’d all be doing all the things you listed anyway. They don’t need to do a lot of extra work to get people playing those modes, or shore up the base for next release. Everyone accepted the masterwork system. Personally, I thought it was too expensive. Others did, too, but the concept is solid. So much so, that we mostly liked it when armor was added. If anything, they should remove cores from infusion AND follow your advice to give us Masterwork cores a bit easier, and give us the ability to change armor to solar, void or arc protection, and add enhanced perk chances on all armor sets. I’d spend $60 on that.

  • the only reason I am suggestion this solution is on that premiss. they wanted to stifle leveling. so instead of their work being completely tossed out I have suggested a way where it can be engaging. yeah, what I presented would net us more cores in short term and long term but at the same time it would also increase the value of the entire destiny world. they have a shady system in place that can be expanded up to actually aid the players. If they gave us more incentive to use Enhancement cores for endgame it could work. for example make it so we can upgrade our perks to enhanced versions by simply paying a core fee. this adds more depth to the system. they could even introduce re rolling exotic armor with a ton of cores. I wouldn't mind if they just took them out of infusion and add more things to spend them on endgame. it would be a win win situation.

I might be ok with using them for better perks as long as they don’t rework the entire system. Adding them to reroll exotics might be ok. It’s reminiscent of the D1 reroll cost. But I wouldn’t suggest it for legendary. Rerolling them is fine, but there are too many to add a core cost.
