We've been monitoring completion rates and general community feedback. At this time, there are no plans to remove Blackout from Reckoning. I've seen a few strategies to overcome this modifier throughout feedback threads, ranging from weapon loadouts to specific subclasses being used against melee enemies. That, paired with teamwork, can lead to success. We'll continue to pass along thoughts from the community to the team. Whether it leads to a change in this activity, or the team applies these learnings to future activity, it is greatly appreciated that many of you have taken the time to give feedback!

It could easily show you just have enough addicted, mindless drones still playing your game. Unless you guys are going to put out a player wide survey to try to gauge satisfaction, and then post the results, this is just another misguided stat. Luckily you have enough clueless players who won't pick up on this.

  • This is how you manage community. Sometimes 'no' is an answer people just have to live with. Don't be afraid to sometimes dissapoint players. Gg on giving a straight up answer on this.

"Looking for bubble titan/self res warlock, Must have gjallarhorn must have 6,000 completions with no deaths" We are Bungie, we are watching. You will play the way we say or you will not play/succeed at all

    Do you expect to be able to complete every single instance of Reckoning with any bullshit loadout you put on regarsless of modifiers? You have to coordinate. Its an endgame activity.

  • Get a team you tard. Reckoning completely possible to beat with a fireteam of randoms. You "solos" ask for endgame matchmaking and when you get it, you complain that its too hard.

  • As a sufficiently powered guardian with a reasonable loadout selected to match burns & skulls, I should have a reasonable expectation to hold my own. There is literally no reason anything short of a Boss' power attack should be a OHK on us - especially a SINGLE thrall. Now go try to offer some CONSTRUCTIVE suggestions you elitist troll.

  • Its not a solo activity. If youre holding your own but your team is being destroyed, youre going to die. Try coordinating.

    I’d just say make blackout not enable higher tier enemies, who already have near one shot potential via melee, not one shot outright. I think the communities issues with the fact of dealing with the swords are based around you’re almost forced for them to get close in order to deal the maximum dps to them. My fix would be the above mentioned if they cannot one shot you period, or buff the player as they enter the light pool with a fortification buff. This could be fifty percent reduced incoming damage, or massive overshields to combat against it. Cheesier thing would be instant supers, but that would be ridiculous. This gives both a rework to blackout or the encounters dps phase itself. Feedback appreciated, but keep it professional people.

    I‘ve been monitoring these kind of answers and general feedback. At this time, I have no plans to play Reckoning with Blackout modifier. I've seen a few answers like this and no change in this game. That, paired with lackluster communication and boring activities, I have zero motivation. I'll continue to pass along thoughts from bungie to my motivation to play, hopefully you guys learn for future activities and answers, it is greatly appreciated that many of you have taken the time to give us a reason to complain!

  • Teamwork with random matchmaking - then just make the activity Fireteams only and have done. People may be completing, but what Bungie is missing is that I doubt they are having Fun - remember fun? That thing we’re meant to have playing your game? Go find it and put that back in 👍

  • Yeah, I don't like how they only considered conpletions. I honestly don't like Last Wish at all, or Leviathan, and sure, I did them, but have I had fun doing them? Eh...not really. I miss when gaming was about fun, and not just the perpetual carrot chasing Bungie has a hard-on for rn.

  • When a [b]match-making[/b] type activity "requires" a specific team makeup (classes/subclasses/weapons/armor) for the typical player to complete then that activity is just broken. I would expect this for raids, but not for activities such as Reckoning, Blind Well, Strikes, etc.. This makes it extremely difficult for solo players to complete unless they get lucky and match up with the right mix of classes running the right subclasses.

  • Well they cried, cried and cried some more for matchmaking in more activities. This is what happens when you give everyone the ability to play with anyone at any given time, some things just shouldn't have matchmaking. You see the same thing when doing raids, allot of ppl struggle with mechanics in destiny plus they don't stop and read anything. Equip your best gear and hit launch is not the best way to go about things in destiny.

  • Those frustrating mechanics you're referring too is why up until now there's only been a handful match made activities. Destiny endgame was built on the premise of 3 man fireteams doing things. Ive been playing solo since black armory, all my friends and clan have abandoned destiny. I solo queued all of the forges. You know what I saw? A bunch of bums that didn't get it. Destiny isn't hard. Ppl make it harder on themselves by not paying attention and trying to matchmake everything. The reckoning requires team composition, everyone has their own freedom on what subclass they choose. That's a problem. If you matchmake then end up with 2 other titans while you're on your titan you are going to struggle, Simple as that.

  • I think I see what you're saying but that's not solo players fault. That's the game design flaws. Some people play games solo for fun, not to [i]have to[/i] rely on other people to coordinate their lives and time to get something done. It drove a lot of players away being forced to be codependent to play a game.

    It’s unfortunate that we cannot have anything challenging in this game without entitlement creeping in. And most of us don’t even consider Blackout, challenging.

  • Most of us? Hmmm, could swear there’s quite a few saying opposite - but obviously we’re wrong.... apologies.... Ps. It’s the lack of fun, not the challenge, that is the issue - like the Thorn strike, very challenging but fun, hell no, blackout would be fine if they didn’t make it so virtually everything one shots you

Not everyone has the option of always having a premade group so you guys have to stop responding to these issues as if matchmaking doesn't exist. If randos can't grasp the concept of standing in my well of radiance or reviving the dead, I'm not holding onto any hope they are using a good weapon load out. Random groups will never have the level of teamwork necessary for punishing modifiers such as blackout. There is nothing in reckoning worth the headache of blackout with randoms so it makes zero sense to waste our time on it that day.
