Nay. Some of the better RP sessions here have come into play from a non RP post.
Edit: Upon further debate with Hoth, I have decided to change my vote to aye under the conditions that the following amendment is ratified.
Amendment 1:
Section 1:
Religious posts are hearby defined as post in which the merits of any religion are debated as part of the main text of the post.
Religion is defined as a system of beliefs that which people live their lives by.
Political posts are defined as any post in which politics or anything in regards to politics is discused
Politics is defined as the activities associated with the governance of a country or other area, especially the debate or conflict among individuals or parties having or hoping to achieve power.
regards is defined as about or related to.
Satire is defined as he use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.
AMA is defined as Ask Me Anything
Section Two: Mandates.
Hereafter, any post in regards to politics or religion shall now have to be properly labeled as such within the title or tags of the post. Politics and religion shall not be talked about in non political posts.
Subsection 1: Satire.
Posts that are satirical in nature are require no more than a satire tag, or any tag derivative of that
Subsection 2: AMA.
Seeing how AMA means ask me anything, no further designation is needed.
Section 3:
This amendment shall go into effect as soon as ratified by the provisions in section 3 of the Role Play Guidelines Act
such as? also, could those not happen on a post that has the RP title in it.
-
I don't have any links atm, but it was on one of Aifos' lighter posts ("lighter" indicating the main post had little or no roleplay whatsoever, I think it was a simple announcement post). Also it could, but the issue with an RP titled post is currently, RP posts are not general, they pertain to one single topic. For example I can't RP an interaction with a user or two during a battle for the Deep. It doesn't make sense. I could start another post that's not about the battle, but then I have to hope that one gains traction.
-
the RP post doesn't have to be limited to a particular subject. For example you could put up a post titled
i just got back from work. AMA [RP post]
and boom, you have created a general roleplay post
-
That's what I'm thinking of doing, just making a weekly general RP post. The issue is, that the current system doesn't quite work like that. Sure we could adjust to the change. But why fix what isn't broken? Also, putting on a tag or a title only will work so well, when people who want to game the system, can easily due to the fact you can edit out a tag or a title.
-
That Pokémon RP in my sketch tho
-
Oh yeah, and there were other RP convos on your sketch too.
-
The Don’t Starve one right?
-
There was one between me and Aifos, is that the one you're talking about?
-
Well, that makes them unreasonable, and we cannot get rid of that. The current system is broken in the fact that roleplay is not universally appreciated around here. Some people don't want roleplay on their posts. but because there are no limitations. the roleplay gets posted despite their wishes. This should be a remedy of that. as far as the common man is concerned.
-
So because some people don't want RP on their posts, we have to limit it to it's own subsection?
-
nope, it is a two fold reason. Because RPers have the right to RP, and because some people don't want RP every where, we make a simple designation system for people to know what is and is not RP
-
I see where you are coming from, but I just disagree that it's enough of an issue that we need to fix it. If it really bothers someone they can hide the posts or mute the user.
-
why couldn't we make a compromise. instead of people muting everyone, RPers RP in RP posts and no one bothers them there, and non rp posts don't get turned into rp
-
I'll accept this proposal if we do the same with religion and politics.
-
sure.
-
Fine, changed my vote.
-
what about satire?
-
Needs to be clearly labeled, and is not allowed to be on a non Satire labeled post.
-
Edited by SuperJohnJohn: 5/1/2019 3:44:06 AMso we don't allow people to satirize people like we did with the furry guy without clear labeling? i think like gimmicks satire should be left un labeled.
-
Exactly.
-
so satire is the exception
-
You edited your reply. I replied to the base. No, satire is not exempt from the rules. If we let one thing slide, then people are going to want politics freed again, and then they'll want religion, and then they'll want pp polls, and then we're right back where we are now.
-
We let gimmicks slide
-
Gimmicks are an extension of one's persona. Without his gimmick, is Loot Crate really Loot Crate?
