I honestly do not see how gimmicks are any different. They revolve solely on imaginary, made up, act like something or someone that you are not, otherwise known as - role playing.
But none of this will never happen because you can't coral feral cats.

Corral?
-
Anyone could corral feral cats, with a little know how, but have you ever tried to coral a feral cat? I didn't think so!
-
Considering I don’t know what that means, I suppose not! Point proven.

Exactly
-
Dang I want one now

The distinction i drew was the game aspect

Ultimately, as has been posted many times already, it's a forum where posters are gonna post whatever they want when and however they want despite the fact that they have no concept of how annoying they are or can be to the mass populace. They're the attention starved and making any possible directive to them not being able to try to steal attention in threads is a threat to them. So obviously the threatened ones are the ones who are most vehemently declaring "no". They would lose a portion of their self perceived "specialness", which in reality is extremely sad that they even remotely think that way. The only real option was and remains - mute those who violate the peace. It's really not difficult, nor is it a loss.
-
Exactly. If someone is taking over your post with rp just ignore, tell them to leave, or more them. I think lots of people forget about the mute button
-
I have thought about it, but it limits me from seeing something of quality that the muted user has said
-
I know at least on Android, you can hide specific posts from users without reporting them and without muting them. I don't know if it will hide any replies to it, as I haven't used it, but it's worth looking into.
-
on computer my only option is mute or report
-
Yeah I just looked at it on PC and it's not there. Why is mobile better than PC in some aspects? It's really dumb.
-
development between websites and apps are very different. So often one will lag behind the other.
but it limits me from seeing something of quality that the muted user has said
Trust me. It doesn't. I have a method of giving people another chance if I muted them. Occasionally I'll go back through my list, unmute them and evaluate their posts in other recent threads. The overwhelming majority of the time I find that I made the right call the first time. They don't change.
-
was i at one point muted?
-
Not that I can recall. You've never gone out of your way to be one of the attention starved.
-
Thank you.
