• Or maybe you and Bungie shouldn't be telling people how to play. Good games give the player options. They dont' unnecessarily restrict them.

 • It’s there game why can’t they tell you the rules or even change them when they want

 • that is true, however, i am merely suggesting that instead of infusing everything you guys get that doesnt actually increase your power by a decent amount then its pointless. players only seem to complain about this even though its caused by careless thinking

 • They complain about it because the freedom to run MULTIPLE BUILDS and optimize those builds IS THE END GAME for games like this. What Bungie has done to infusion DESTROYS that game play option, and DRAINS the game of its enjoyment for a large number of hte players. I'm not "infusing everything". Before Foresaken, I was infusing four carefully crafted builds for each of my 3 character....and was able to maintain them with ease, because I played about 25 hours a week. Now, it is MATHEMATICALLY impossible to play this game this way. Because you can't extract the 200 cores per week you'd need to support it.....and getting duplicates of everything for all three characters so you can infuse for glimmer artificially extends the grind to WAY past the point of the season in question. So you never finish before the level cap gets raised....and the shit starts all over again. THIS is why Bungie won't remove cores. Because their goal is to HIDE the fact that this game has no real end game----by TRAPPING us in an unending MID-GAME item level grind. My frustration and inability to play the way I want is not a BUG....its a FEATURE. Bungie just thinks they have us all hooked enough that we'll just keep playing any way. I wont'.

 • i sorta understand what you mean, but for me, this makes not much sense. I've never had an issue with cores and masterwork almost everything i use, all my armor on all 3 classes is fully MW, i play little pve and dont have an issue with getting cores at all.
i play little pve and dont have an issue with getting cores at all.
...and therefore you have little need of cores if you're largely playing PVP...and also have little need for running multiple builds because the only weapons you "need" are the meta weapons. Which tend to drop as masterworks or are exotics. IOW, you're playing the game more as a shooter than as an RPG. Which is why I say that the game is broken AS AN RPG. Because the problems with cores only really show themselves if: 1. You're a PVE player playing the game as a loot-based RPG. 2. You're a new or returning player. 3. You're a more casual player. 4. You're a more hardcore player who is trying to run and maintain multiple builds. This is where this system breaks down...and it breaks the game in the process. As I said, I'm the 4th case, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to get what I need from the game (by design) to play that way. When I was full time player, I played 25 hours a week on three characters.... ...and it literally took every hour of play, and every cores that I could scrounge from the game just to maintain TWO builds per character. Whereas I used to maintain FOUR full time builds with ease prior to Forsaken. As well as have the resources left over to level up gear with situational value and hold it in my vautl. Can't do that anymore either. All the gear in my vault is basically useless now as well.

 • i still dont see how you need so many to maintain a build, if you think logically you can have max light in 2 weeks of playing pve content (which from personal experience isnt hard). you dont need all gear to be max LL for any activity, a 699 power player and 700 power player share exactly the same damage and deal exactly the same in a 700 activity. there is no need to be infusing gear up by 2 levels

 • It's less about having enough to maintain one build, it's about all builds. To max everything I had each season would gonna cost nearly 800 cores, that's just dumb. It accomplishes nothing and just pushes me to not even try.

 •
i still dont see how you need so many to maintain a build, if you think logically you can have max light in 2 weeks of playing pve content (which from personal experience isnt hard).
No, you can't playing at normal engagement levels. The only people who are hitting level cap in two weeks are streamers who play the game 40 or 50 hours a week....and other people playing this game as if it were a full-time job. I have played this game for almost 5 years.....and under the best of coniditions....it usually takes me about a MONTH of playing an average of 25 hours a week. to hit level cap. Since the Milestone system, it often takes me longer, because the game artificially limits the number of opportuniites to progress your character each week. I tried to level up a new character on PC....I breezed through the entire Destiny 2 campaign and DLCs i a holiday weekend to get to 500 power. It took me three weeks to go frm 500 to 550....then I got stuck for ANOTHER 3 weeks because I got nothing but kinetic wepaons and boots to drop as powerful drops.
ou dont need all gear to be max LL for any activity,
THEN WHY IS BUNGIE RESTRICTING MY ABILITY TO DO THIS?!?!?! You see---no personal disrespect---this is the point every one of you who tries to come to the defense of this broken system fail to realize. FROM A PURE GAME DESIGN PERSPECTIVE IT MAKES NO RATIONAL SENSE. If allowing me to reach level cap with mulitple pieces of gear doesn't impact game play (as you claim), then why is Bungie altering the ENTIRE game to PREVENT me from doing it----and digging their heels in to defend against changning it. Simple. Because they understand for a lot of players like you, who are more shooter gamers than RPG gamers....you stop playing the game once you reach level cap. You do this because (as evidenced by the questions your asking) you don't really engage the end-game loot chase....or extend the replay value of the game by creating multiple builds. So Bungie is basically DESTROYING my ability to play the game how I want, in a misguided attempt to keep players like you ----and a former clanmate of mine----in the game longer. Its misguided because because players like my clanmate ALWAYS LEAVE. Blizzard---only the most successful designer of these kinds of games EVER----realized that players ALWAYS LEAVE once their reach their goals....and that trying to be withholding doesn't changes this. All it changes is WHEN they leave and HOW they leave. When you reward the player, they leave....but they leave HAPPY....and tend to comeback when there is new stuff to do and to chase. They also recommend the game to their friends. But when you are stingy and withholding from the player, they leave...but they leave angry and frustrated....and tend to never come back. They also tell their friends to stay away from the game. ...and your'e seeing the former happen with The Division 2, which just SHOWERS the player in loot, and trusts that people will hang around to min-max (At World Tier 5, essentially all that drops are "high end" gear pieces....and you sort through the loot shower for the pieces with the best perks and stats to suit your builds). But you're seeing the latter happen with Destiny 2 and Anthem. Both are trying to prolong play at the highest level, by trying to be withholding....and people arne' playing more. They're playing LESS in response to this approach. BioWare---to their credit----understand this and is trying to find a way to fix it without completely breaking their game. Bungie is arrogantly denying that its a problem....arrogantly lecturing us about their "design goals" and renaming cores (as if we just don't **understand**)....while they attempt a whole slew of half-assed measures calcuated to turn down the frustration JUST enough to get us to stop complaining and accept this shit as the new normal. Not going to happen.

 • honestly, at the end of the day, im going to disagree with you no matter what. But i do thank you, for at least being civil about this instead of going out of your way to act stupid and shut me down for not seeing eye to eye :)
