Hunter's and Warlock's Supers

Both Should Gain Oversheild

None Should be Buffed

Hello fellow Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans! I am here today to talk about supers of the Warlock and Hunter class. Personally, I think that in no way that any super is bad but some could definitely use work. While I may be confused so other players, please don't hate me for this but I fell that compared to the current Striker, Sentinel, and Sunbreaker, both of the Hunter and Warlock arc and Hunter Golden Gun suck. Hear me out. I find myself occasionally finding a Warlock using the arc tree abilities and am able to easily mow them down whether it be Stormcaller or Chaos Reach. Same with the both of the Hunter arc classes. Whenever I see an Arcstrider coming my way, I can easily take them out using and normal gun. With the Whirlwind Guard, when using it, the guard slows you down tremendously when moving, wasting the super, and I find that with all Arcstaff subclasses, unlike Spectral Blades, cannot attack enemies in the air for the life of you. As for Golden Gun, the new return a bullet buff was smart but like with all supers, it should be able to be used in a time of need. I find that if I am even off by a second, I get destroyed when I pop my Golden Gun. When this happens, despite not firing a single shot and doing no damage what so ever, I lose my entire super. These supers should be able to help in bad places like when your a Titan and all you need to do is pop a Sunbreaker and start chucking hammers on the ground to kill everything around you. These may just be my problems but they may also be yours too. Please help Bungie notice these by upvoting and participating in the poll. Thank you for your time.

  • Hunters should get a speed buff to complement their ability but they should be the weakest. Titans should have the most health and damage but should be slower. Warlocks should have a longer lasting super, after all they are like magicians

I think current supers have way too much damage rediction if anything, when going against roaming supers that have MW armor it takes two shotgun shots and a melee to kill them, coupled with the numerous ways to regain health and extend the duration AND the fact that super mods exist, things like pump action exist (in a shotgun heavy meta) and orb generation is so generous, supera currently dominate most matches after 2 minutes into any match. I can understand why people would get frustrated about Golden Gun having no extra armor but you have to look at the super from its strong points... its a point and delete instant death from any range with no travel time and VERY generous hitboxes. The problem most people have with it is popping it as a "get out of the situation im in" super, normally on lowish health, surrounded by enemies. If you look at players like Baken who main golden gun, the super looks almost stronger than other roamers. Just takes some learning and aim. Arcstaff is also still very good, i think people have grown far too used to how much of a broken powerhouse Spectral Blades is and EVERYTHING will feel weak compared to it, it should not be the super that you compare everything else to, its not how supers are supposed to be. People that mastered arcstaff and never gave in to the spectral fad are the real MVPs because they took something balanced and made it look OP, when you see a skilled arcstaff user in pvp pulling out all the combinations and dodging left and right, its crazy, again though... takes some kind of skill, people are far too used to the easy mode BS that they've been taking for granted like SB where all you need to do is press one button until everything dies. Stormcaller is also in a fantasric place right now, ive been trying to main top tree for the longest time and although it was never impossible to use against other supers, it definitely was harder... with the recent changes to it, though small, the whole tree has become incredible. Arcweb is insane if you chuck it in the right places and the 150% progressive damage increase over 5 seconds really makes the super more than viable against other supers. You can ionic blink over things like hammers and shields and you can pre-zap the ground to get tgat damage buff before you unleash it on another super. Super satisfying to use. All in all, once spectral recieves its nerfs, supers will be in the most balanced state we've seen in a long while.. and instead of buffing supers in such a super-spamming meta, id much rather see a 15% super armor reduction across ALL supers and see unused subclasses have their NEUTRAL game buffed. Edit: excuse some of the typos, i have potato thumbs and wrote this out on my phone.

      • I think stormcaller, arc staff, and golden gun are fine. Top tree stormcaller is very strong and you can easily outplay spectral blades, dawnblade, etc. Arc staff is made for very close quarters and excels when you can dodge around corners etc. Golden gun has no extra armor because if you challenge a golden gun user 99% of the time you will die. The only time you can outplay one is if they’re not watching radar and you’re behind them with a sniper or hiding around a corner with a shottie. Supers definitely do not need MORE armor. They already have so much armor that a sniper shot cannot kill them with a headshot.

      • I only think 1 hunter super should have a little buff and that's golden gun. Just a little extra armour would be nice

      • I feel like if you said certain supers instead of warlocks and hunters. More people would have agreed

      • It's the same with stormcaller, it's great vs regular guardians and against teams it can be iffy however against supers it sucks. That's an issue too, cause it's not built for super vs super combat, it's meant to be used to get multi-kills but that can be difficult as well given how strong special weapons are...

      • Personally I think the GG is fine. Most people who have issues with it say it needs armor but I don't think so. It takes practice to get consistent with but it's definitely one of the strongest supers in the game. It's a hitscan super that can crossmap and with the way of the outlaw it can 2 tap supers easy or just one tap everything else and you can get some really nice plays, as long as you aim right and as you said aren't off by a second. It's a super that requires speed and accuracy to work. That being said, maybe it could be activated just a little quicker so that if you want to use it to shut down a super, you have more time to use it before they kill you with hammers or a SB, etc. To each his own though, I like GG the way it is, the main issue is the smallest maps, they make it easier and mostly worthwhile to use supers like SB or BB.
