Government IS the problem, half the time. Big, bloated, overpowered, corrupt, and about as trustworthy as a cobra. The total antithesis of what the constitution designed it to be.

Check out the 10th Amendment to the Bill of Rights. Basically says the government keeps its beak out of everything except what the Constitution assigns to it. It stays small, and its power is limited. How things change...

People don’t have power over the government. And you can thank liberals for that.
-
But the government doesn't dare try to strip away the people's rights, for the "greater good" of course. And you can thank the conservatives for that.
-
I’m sure they would like to. But you see the liberals on the Supreme Court have to pass that by so... you can thank the liberals for starting it and not ending it.

It's too early in their overarching plan. Before the government can control the people, it must make the people want them to take control. First step, disarm the people so that they are totally reliant on the government for protection. Second, wait for an incident to occur, something like 9-11, so the people are afraid. Third, the people will vote away their own rights so the government won't be bound by laws protecting privacy or free speech. Remember how liberty dies...

? What does that have to do with anything

I hope you never have cause to understand.

You never really responded to my thing

What was your question, exactly?

Hard to say. Maybe, enforcing free expression, amorality, and diversity are their way of attacking the conservative power base. Or maybe, they truly believe that giving the government absolute power will not result in its ultimate abuse. Maybe they're trying to cater to those who don't like the conservatives: minorities, crooks, and those on welfare. Who knows?
