Update: The S6 Pinnacle weapons will be available again for acquisition tomorrow 4/11 at 2PM Pacific after the hotfix.

And cores don't mean anything anyway. If it were something essential to the game, sure. And ultimately it doesn't matter, but I can see some people who were about to get their gear being annoyed.

I can't agree with your so what on that. Bungie looks at stats of things and maybe they have an average MW core number they look at. But with them being able to farm something as valuable to some as MW cores it needed patched. Just like the loot cave. I could care less that people were close to their pinnacles. Blame people who constantly try to f*** with Bungie's system and find exploits like that. I do. I don't blame Bungie for stepping in and stopping it as soon as they did. I'm just as close to Pinnacle weapons as most and you don't see me complaining because it's TEMPORARY. Meaning it's going to get a fix soon. I'd rather them take time on a fix because if they just toss something out to try and fix it other problems can arise possibly. They've done good on their part so far and to complain is literally complaining that you can't cheat. That's all the argument is.

We can’t say it will be soon who knows how long it will take to fix and for those who are close to getting their weapons we don’t grind hard for something to be on being time gated because we play the game to play the game have fun and use the weapons we work hard to get while others get to use them and exploit them we just wanna use them because we feel we earned them that’s what everyone is saying here. Being punished for something they didn’t do mistake or not people make a lot of money to minimize major mistakes and this was a major one that shouldn’t have happened at all

I didn't say leave the exploit in the game permanently. But it was there fault that the issue exists in the first place. Player time is often ignored. Yet player money, is not. People are upset that their time is always secondary to Bugies own internal motivation, yet the devs actively pursue players investing that time into the game. Right now, no exploit needed, any player can spend time and farm up any number of cores they want. That's in game. Whether it takes a week, or a day, they can farm to their hearts content. So this particular exploit has NO impact on anything in game other than the speed at which people can stockpile a resource that only they can use. All this does is prove that the purpose of cores is to slow player progression(which it doesn't), limit player choice(which it does), and cover up a shallow loot pool. Pinnacle rewards, however, are an investment of time, any losing access to them, disregards that time. It IS just a game. So no, it's not a really big deal to ME. But that kid who spent his spare time going for Luna? Slogged through 40 matches of Gambit? And they get to the end, after weeks of time. "Oh, yeah, we messed up, you have to wait, we don't know when it will be fixed. Sorry..." Look, if they come out and say we will patch it on X day, cool. Otherwise it's BS.

Those people who worked since Forsaken released for the Pinnacle weapons can wait a few days or a couple weeks depending on how fast they fix this. I'm working on Pinnacle weapons as well. I understand this isn't going to stay blocked from use. Patience. I've been working on it since Forsaken as well and I can wait. It's impatience and something that is literally blown out of proportion. I don't "farm" cores. That's in no way fun. I hate the MW core economy at the moment and this bs shifts it to an even worse spot because now douchers will continue to say how they have no problem with MW bu the people who play the game as intended are boned. What they did was right. It's temporarily annoying yes but there's other stuff to work towards in the mean time.

The funny party is everyone forgets about rng talking about waiting and patience like people haven’t been waiting forever for certain things due to rng and now something they can just put work into without rng snd gusss what.... back to feeling like it’s rng lol cause we don’t know when they will fix it and yet still can’t use them

Man, enhancement chores really are the gift that keeps on giving aren't they... -generating criticism for artificially inflating playtime via progression gating or meaningless grind -generating criticism for limiting gear selection while levelling-up, ability to use / wear what you want -generating criticism for forcing players to make their characters look like utter crap for a few weeks -generating criticism for the developers inability to acknowledge the issue and stubbornly proposing non-solutions in attempts to appease the base -generating criticism when exploits appear and force the temporary removal of end-game content They really where a brilliant idea... I mean what is all of the above in light of all the benefits and good things they add to the game... oh. Right.... This latest incident around cores just shows how problematic they've become since becoming a necessity for infusion. There were other solutions to masterwork gear in a meaningful fashion - the same way exotics work. There were also other ways to manage progression economics - the same way it worked in D1 and D2 prior to this questionable decision to try and slow progression... sorry... make infusion "impactful" Enhancement cores are just the D1 Etheric light fiasco all over again. Hopefully someone in your studio wakes up soon and does the only sensible thing, which is to deprecate and remove them from the game. I do feel for you as you're just the messenger here. Hopefully studio heads will see now just how problematic this unnecessary currency/resource really is. More playtime from fewer and fewer and more and more disgruntled players is NOT a viable strategy to keep this game alive between content drops. And probably drives more away (casuals who can't amass cores, hardcores who are just bored and burnt out with it) You have access to way more data than us on that front... go ahead and tell me I'm wrong. Start focusing on player satisfaction KPIs / propose to institute NPS like metrics. Then worry about maintaining / keeping up playtime stats. Even at its worst, D1 did way better than any D2 iteration on a lot of fronts. It didn't need cores (or so many chores) to do so. Learn to recognize mistakes were made, address them and move on. Instead of letting a few design leads dig the game in an ever deeper hole.

So all the people that were lucky and on at the right time got a thousand cores for free. But everyone else still has to deal with that bullshit? Cool. Now would be a good time to reduce the need for cores since fairness went out the window.

You do realize that your fixing something that no one cares about, right? People dont want cores. People do want cool weapons. So, the exploit fixes the core problem. But, your fix makes everything worse.

Nicely done! You know if those Enkrunkment Cores weren't a part of the infusion process you lot wouldn't have to do this...well nice to know some folks will now have the opportunity to have many, many "meaningful" infusions...
