Very nice. Sigmund is still snickering in my ear at Malex and Elite's... ah, assessment of my evening with Paula.
Just a heads-up, I'll be posting so biographical info on our favorite Kinderguardian teacher tomorrow. Will tell you when it's up...

I wonder how growler and Ajax will get along
-
Who’s growler?
-
I'm still trying to decide what Growler was doing in our adventure together. Running along behind the horses or stuck in a crate aboard the ketch?
-
Huh. Yeah I completely forgot about growler when I wrote those chapters. Maybe Hawthorn was wolf sitting?

Edited by Oddish43: 4/6/2019 9:36:59 PMGrowler would be with Petra if at all possible. One, because he guards her if she is in harm's way. Second, if they're together, Belle can revive both of them as needed. The rules in the kinderguardian-verse for light-forged animals are kind of like the rules for a preguardian: they have light-aided healing, and will not age further once they reach the prime of life. Because they don't have a Ghost, they're mortal: if they sustain injury beyond the ability of said healing, they will die. However, if they are closely associated with a given Guardian, they can be revived by their Guardian's Ghost. Even Oddish didn't know this; it was a big surprise for him the first time Growler died and Belle zapped him back to life.
-
That’s true. That’s why I had Ajax introduced like I did. When Malex shared a little of his light with the dog he became light forged. (I assume that’s how that works)
-
Generally, the Traveler chooses who is forged in light and who is not. It chose the Iron Wolves when they were human beings. However, certain Guardians have unique talents, for instance Ricardo's ability to see visions, or whatever ability Toland used to enter the ascendent realm. Maybe Malex's ability to share a fragment of power is such an ability. It's certainly not something anyone could do, since the lore is clear that Guardians cannot be artificially created (rf: "Postmodern Prometheus"). And also that we don't see more Guardians with animal companions (something for D3 maybe?).
-
That could work. Still, when a big light forged German Shepard meets a big light forged wolf it’s going to be interesting
-
Hopefully, there won't be a dog-fight. Since neither of the two can actually kill the other, it could take a REALLY long time.
-
True, maybe Ajax might react to Growler like he would to a human? But why would he do that? It’s not like there’s a secret to saladins wolves right?
-
It depends on how their instincts see the other. If they see each other's species, their meeting might be antagonistic. If they can detect the light that they're both infused with, they would likely regard each other as pack-mates.
-
Oh, I got it. But remember, Growler has been working with a wolf size brain for the last 200+ years. Expecting him to think like a human might be a little much.
-
Yeah that’s true. I’d be willing to bet Petra will win over Ajax in the first five seconds they meet
-
Probably. Petra can wrap any adult male around her finger, regardless of species.
-
That’s a dangerous power for any girl to have
-
Yes. And far from uncommon IRL. I could tell you some stories.
-
So could I bro. So could I
-
Bro how did you not get the reference to your own series?
