It's a difficult balancing act. When Destiny 2 first released, we received a lot of feedback that things were to easy to earn. Without random rolls, there was no reason to replay activities to re-earn rewards. Without RNG, things were missing the spark of Destiny 1. An example we'd see was players replaying Vault of Glass numerous times for the Mythoclast. That said, we're doing some tuning on RNG. Reckoning will have better chances, and bad luck protection, for weapon drops. We're making sure the Nightfall rotation brings back activities more frequently for the unique weapons/rewards, and ada-1 bounties offer bounties for every weapon so you can grind out your desired roll. We've also introduced Pinnacle Weapons - players have given a lot of great feedback on how they enjoy the straight path to a reward, but we've also gotten poor feedback that the path is sometimes too easy or too hard. All in all, Destiny 2 will continue to evolve. Whether it be tuning RNG, Sandbox, Crucible - the experience will continue to change. Cheers to all who are coming along for the ride.

The players who are going to chew through your content regardless? You guys are losing on both fronts because you take the most influence from the few people are going to blast through your content anyways. They will never be satisfied until you've created a game that only they can play. And in that process you screw over all the mid-core to casual player base who just end up giving up because requiring us to do 75 Heroic Strikes when we can't destroy NFs like the elites do is absurd. Heroic Strikes are insanely boring. And you wonder why people just AFK through them. By the end of most things we end up just hating the mode because the grind or lack or reward kills it.

It's true, this game needed random rolls, but it goes a lot further than simply saying random rolls was missing from the game. The lack of loot is missing from the game right now and it's in plain sight. Gamers did ask for random rolls that would help with that replayability but what was actually offered that actually improved the game when one acquires them random rolls? not much at all because that lack of effort put into creating random rolls and the loot that goes with it.
Without RNG, things were missing the spark of Destiny 1. An example we'd see was players replaying Vault of Glass numerous times for the Mythoclast.
True again, but going way overboard with the RNG because of the lack of random rolls and loot to acquire (is not what anyone asked for.) An example would be not going way overboard with the RNG is looking at D1 the skill tree and how gamers were able to customize their Guardian to actually improving their abilities (when they wanted to with random rolls.) That alone gave that incentive to want to run VoG among other things like Vex. Abusing the RNG in D2 is one of the problems in this game. It's not the player base at all, it's Bungie period. Edit: The one thing I see a problem with the RNG in this game and they did it with D1 is, when it comes to giving Bungie feedback they take things to the extream. If the player base asks for a grind they go overboard with it. If the player base asks to decrease the drop rate when it comes to the RNG, they hand it out like candy. Where is the happy medium or the attempt to meet a happy medium?

 • Is there no rng bad luck in the works for 1k? I’m sitting at 117 keys opened and not one dropped. Petra’s run should double your chance after completing. I’ve carried numerous 1st timers that got it on their 1st or second run. Heck, even saw a rivensbane with 9 total clears.

 • Heroic strike specific loot man. Bring it back. I remember in D1 i would get on after a day of work. Crack a 6 pack of beer and just run strikes with my buddies. We would talk about politics, religion, life, current events ect. Good conversation while doing sonething mindless with no stress, and getting nice loot while just chillin. Why is this not a thing in D2 Y2 yet?

 • You did pretty well catering to endgame if a little sparten but you pretty much killed the mid game and made year 1 totally obsolete. That wouldn't be so bad if you had even remotely close to the quantity of Y1's loot pool. Y2 isn't even a loot puddle, its barely a damp patch. You swung way too far from generous to victorian workhouse, not really appropriate for fun entertainment.

 • The problem isn't RNG or how much it takes to get a pinnacle weapon, the problem is how unrewarding the rewards feel. Mythoclast was very sought after especially in year 1 because of how fun and powerful it was. The trick here isn't to fix RNG nor to make it easier to get pinnacle weapons. The trick is to make very different weapons that can do unique things. Look at Warframe. Look at Opticor for example. It's very unique in the sense that it fires a spartan laser that you can charge up. Not many other weapons fire lasers. By incorporating unique perks to certain weapons, making them shoot different, changing the sound, and making them aesthetically appealing, many would try to get that weapon. For example, One Thousand Voices. Looks unique, fires beams that explode after a bit that deal massive damage, and has a unique sound. Weapons like that are the ones this game desperately need.

 • We need a loot/vendor refresh!!! That would make all these same activities feel worthwhile!!! It’s not fun doin the same milestones just to get another main ingredient or another crucible sword. New archetypes of weapons, more interesting and activity specific perks like gambit prime armor. Also having factions be permanent would be nice, it was nice in D1 building that reputation while playing the game, that rank up reward could also help with the enhancement core problem a lot of players are feeling.(1-2 per level). Lastly :) can pvp get some new maps/ rift/ and a 3v3 Elim mode for crucible labs? Even if u just keep remastering D1 favorites that would be amazing!! Thanks for everything you do on here!!

 • Sadly I procrastinated the bounty then... didn't care once they nerfed it. One of my buddies had a whole lot of fun in crucible with it. His k/d slowly fell from then on.

 • Like every other exotic weapon you don't use, it wasn't intended for you.
It doesn't mean to Instantly deny a weapon returning.
• Why would anyone think it's fun to invest hours into Iron Banner for 0 or +1 gear/weapons for your engrams? And then get 3 chest pieces out of the 7 engrams? Your idea of fun is different than mine.
