It's a difficult balancing act. When Destiny 2 first released, we received a lot of feedback that things were to easy to earn. Without random rolls, there was no reason to replay activities to re-earn rewards. Without RNG, things were missing the spark of Destiny 1. An example we'd see was players replaying Vault of Glass numerous times for the Mythoclast. That said, we're doing some tuning on RNG. Reckoning will have better chances, and bad luck protection, for weapon drops. We're making sure the Nightfall rotation brings back activities more frequently for the unique weapons/rewards, and ada-1 bounties offer bounties for every weapon so you can grind out your desired roll. We've also introduced Pinnacle Weapons - players have given a lot of great feedback on how they enjoy the straight path to a reward, but we've also gotten poor feedback that the path is sometimes too easy or too hard. All in all, Destiny 2 will continue to evolve. Whether it be tuning RNG, Sandbox, Crucible - the experience will continue to change. Cheers to all who are coming along for the ride.

    A huge problem I have is I admit I play way to mutch but as a huge destiny I and 2 fan a huge problem is I do think the repeated drop rates are just crazy one week in dreaming city I got six tigersprites which to be honest was a joke because I did not need them at all. In last wish I've done all the triumphs and only thing stopping me from getting that title is 1000 voices but will it drop answer no and have done 35 last raid completions which is just crazy with no drop and other players out there have done more last wish completions then me and same is happening to them and I know you want everyone to come back and play your game each week but things like this happening are very off putting for some considering the amount of hours they put into this game. Hopefully things will get better. Also for all the community out there please make strikes have pacific loot drops like we had in destiny 1 which would make strikes worth taking part in and also make heroic events give percific loot drops which would also give us the community a reason for doing them. Maybe give new monarchy and dead Orbit and future warcult a ranking system like in destiny 1 where we the community can rank them up by playing pvp or gambit with new weapons and ships, ghost, sparows and armor to go for which would make the game last longer between dlcs and I know you are all working hard at bungie studios and we all appreciate it but having things like I mentioned would bring life into the game between dlcs.     To all of you with fond memories of D1, I remember when D2 initially released. Rave reviews...all the problems of D1 have been fixed in D2! Was D2 the result of player feedback from D1? Seems that in some respects it was. Then a few weeks later, too easy, too casual. And yes, Bungie made some bonehead moves in December of that year which probably caused some facepalms with-in its organization. Seems they have gotten past those more egregious type of errors. All I am saying is that you have to be careful with nostalgia. You know, the Good Ole Days syndrome. I like the direction that Bungie is taking Destiny right now, especially with the lore being a bigger part of the game. I will be okay with a total fresh start with a D3 as long as they continue the lore story line and continue to lean into it. And I believe Bungie realizes how important D3 will be. They are on their own now. Which is in itself a learning experience for them. Finally, I have tried other games. I will say, for me at least, that the movement and shooting mechanics along with the attention to detail in Destiny are hard to beat.

  • No it's not ... Learn from the competition, like EsO and division Allow fireteams to trade with each other items they earn when together for a two hour window Everyone is happy ... It's simple ... You're just refusing to take this step out of fear it will lose you players ... Well it won't it will a totally bring more players together and encourage us to run group content with Freinds so we can help each other get our very own perfect load out

  • I played a ton of destiny 1, maybe not as much as others, but for example- nightfall rewards. Skeleton keys. This concept made it so that you were nearly guaranteed to get some sort of exclusive reward! Unlike the bullshit of completing over 30 consecutive nightfalls all for the braytech osprey! Also, can we have BURNS back, not SINGES? You guys shit on player time investment, and his going to prove detrimental to the player base. I’m going to continue playing this game because I love playing PvP, but there needs to be some sort of RNG protection, like -blam!-

  • Things were to easy to earn because if you got a gun once that was it chase over. Now you got to chase that gun multiple times to get the perfect roll and maybe a particular niche roll for dumb builds. Loot drops could be dialed up a good amount honnestly, perhaps have lesser chance before you have the item in question but once you do get it the drop rate increases to help find a good roll.

  • you guys WAY overnerfed the exotic drop rates in forsaken i've got this game on 3 systems: xbox, pc, ps4 on pc/ps4 i was playing with the year 1 drop rates and it was a blast on xbox i started in forsaken and it is so slow and laborious that I look forward to nothing but xur forsaken lets you waste so much time for so little reward

  • I really want to make different builds but it's impossible to get the right roll on an exotic. You cant even guarantee you'll get an exotic, let alone the specific exotic you want, and roll you want. It's not possible to have fun making builds in destiny 2 unless whatever roll that comes from collections is the roll you want. I really cant understand why this is been overlooked by bungie.

  • Destiny 2 was my brother"s first experience of the Destiny universe. Like many others he tailed off from playing like many others about two months after release. I recently got him back into the game with the forsaken expansion. Anyway, he has been doing some of the quest lines for weapons. He said something to me last night which really struck a chord. He said "I am sick of jumping through their (Bungie's) hoops to play the game. I can see him getting fed up and stop playing soon enough.

  • Point is strikes adventures planetary NPCs are useless once you have hit max light there is no reason to ever do them .. adventures could be a cool thing with a loot pool separate from other stuff .. it's like some of these activities we're added to fill in space not to strengthen the game ... Even look at shax and zavala other than pinnacle weapons they are useless .. they don't get refreshed each season they get one weapon each season and it's year 1 weapon at that .. I think what the guy means by time investment to reward ratio isn't that y'all dont give rewards it's you don't update we do the same activities for the same gear ever since forsaken .. Season of the drifter only brought reckoning weapons no weapons or armor got added to the world loot pool or to NPCs ... Npcs could be very important and very rewarding if done right .. players don't go to these planets cause they want to they go cause they have to whether it's flashpoint or scrapper bounty .. Like I said it feels like you added alot of this stuff to feel out space in the game not to strengthen the game .. even factions are pointless .. you could have done what you did in d1 where each week they sell different rolls on gear and the exotic class items and players would be happy with that .. I get y'all have alot on your plate but adding content for the sake of adding content is a bad descision .. if your gonna put it in the game it should be meaningful and worth the time to grind ..

  • I think alot of what he means is All the activities aside from raids pinnacle weapons and few others have no incentive to run after getting the powerful drop and once your max there's no reason to ever touch it again ... Example heroic adventures , and strikes neither have anything unique and cool you can get from running these things .. each heroic adventure should have a unique weapon or armor piece and I don't mean a reskin.. Look at the heroic strike playlist in d1 it had skeleton keys and each strike had multiple different very unique items that could drop .. there was at least fifty overall strike items in the playlist if not more and they were all themed Off of the boss you killed or the theme of the strike ... And grinding skeletons keys allowed somewhat of a potential grind for what you want ... D2 completely lacks in this area .. nightfall loot is cool but when it was brought it you released 3 weapons and 4 cosmetics the weapons are now obsolete cause mods and random rolls ... And if we're being honest the the gear is very boring .. no armor .. and look at the wardens law handcannon it's a reskin of ten paces and thin line with a tiny difference ... Remember grasp of malok you knew by looking that weapon was hive based same with imago loop .. and the strike armor was some of the coolest looking stuff in the game ... Point is strikes are useless now

    “It’s a difficult balancing act.....” Bungie I think a lot of the base ‘do’ understand the dilemma your are in and humans are fickle which offers its own challenges for balance all by itself but who had the idea individual or group decision to continually and to me, systematically take the fun out of Destiny? With every new content drop season after season, with the choices removed or mediocre content more than a few times replacing what worked and the removal of past game locations, character gear from us or leaving it in game but making it nothing more than infusion fuel. Every decision we have seen to me appears to be Bungie’s attempt to control our game play and playability, you went way to far. We should be allowed to play how we want to play as we have time to play. As long as Bungie is set on making us play Destiny their way only, the game world will continually be less then it was or could be in the future. Such a shame if the franchise does go the way of the Dodo bird, so much potential if you would let the game evolve and stop the hodgepodge sequel train. Many of us have started speaking with our time now which has become our only recourse if we already bought into the annual pass. Bungie please stop crushing the Dream instead of keeping it alive. I like Gambit but gambit is not the type of mainstream content, or Black Armory for that matter which I spent money on the last couple years for multiple licenses. My expectations to this point have been WAY to high I guess? Please humor me but as an example, If the evolution of the original Mass Effect trilogy upon its conclusion (the milestone or bar it set....not ending) was like America going to the moon, then Bungie with Destiny had the potential to evolve similarly to leaving our solar system. Instead to this point, Bungie, ‘we’ (our characters) figuratively, have only rarely left Earths orbit but return shortly after again and again to just do it all repeatedly over again ‘IF’ each season, you pay for the privilege of accessing the latest season. Bungie when the rubber hits the road it appears to me you have been satisfied with circling the earth or sending out a probe or three into the blackness and not really even trying to go back to the moon both figuratively and literally much less make it past mars or the Kuiper belt or beyond to make Destiny the EPIC evolution we thought we would get over 10 years when it was first announced. My family, 3 of us who played on separate accounts close to everyday since D1 for years would ‘NEVER’ have asked for MoRe of the PVP \ PVE hybrid or more escalation protocol esc.... content like Forge \ Blindwell! Now Destiny has turned into a world of grind until you either wear your controller or console out or just turn it off out of frustration with horrible matchmaking, rng content drops, timed bounties and repetitive gated activities. With Activision gone now Bungie you have the driver seat and before probably had limits previously by contract or content already somewhat in the pipeline so we are stuck with a season of no real depth once more today. I do realize it will take time ‘if’ we are going to see something better then Black Armory or Gambit or something better than your present season pass model but I am done buying pre-release content until I see changes that are what we have been asking to see for many years. What ‘WE’ have been asking for, for many years is, more story, more access to everything removed over most seasons better than what replaced it or not made fully useable, relevant or compatible as Destiny has evolved and what ‘most on the forum repetitively have requested fixing the infusion system that you broke. We want new depth which has been mostly missing within D2 and for me, most of all....no more damn sequels having to re-earn content once more previously owned in the past. Bungie make Destiny great. Give Destiny the Golden age, open world, all inclusive evolution and content imagined years ago when you pitched Destiny to us over 10 years.

  • These numbers are only a snap shot in time. Theoretically you could have 1 million people who logged on and played one day and another totally different 1 million play the next day. That would be 2 million different users over two days. Only Bungie knows what the real numbers are.

  • Honestly, the problem was created when the company seemed to forget everything it had done up until the end of D1. So many things that should have been kept in gone. Then it’s taken til now to get somewhere close. If we’d started with a similar level of activities and factions etc then we’d be strides ahead by now.

    year 1 trials weapons ornaments and armour gone year 1 iron banner weapons ornaments and armour gone year 1 vanguard and crucible weapons ornaments and armour gone year 1 faction weapons ornaments and armour gone year 1 world vendors still the same nothing new no update (been 2 years almost) year 1 raid armour and weapons still the same no random rolls year 1 ep weapons and armour still the same no random rolls still no catalyst for year 2 and some year 1 weapons bungie you have so much stuff but you left it behind or haven't even bothered to update or put back in the game DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT

  • That's feedback from people that never want the game to end. Some of us actually want it to so we can move on or have fun and mess around with our rewards. In an onli e game that has a defined lifespan, making things next to impossible to get is nonse se and only hurts your game. When your next game comes out, when a majority of players move on, imagine anyone still trying to get certain things. For some, it'll be next to impossible and those players wasted all that time for nothing. Something to think about.

  • This. I can't just play Crucible and have fun because I've got 4 gambit primes hanging over my head. I can't grind strikes because I've got dreaming city stuff calling me. It's a lot to do with levelling honestly. Remove milestones , let people level in anything, and let's see what people really enjoy.
