Hear me out,
I love both PvP and PvE in Destiny.
For both activities I always mess around with different load-outs/builds to see there effectiveness.
Or I’m in one activity just trying to progress to get a weapon, or finish a quest.
What I am afraid of, is that this game will turn quickly in to GTA Online.
For those of you who don’t play GTA V, you could just be minding your own business, driving around your million dollar cars, or actually trying to make money, and then some bloke kills you. Over and over and over again.
So imagine this in Destiny... You’re just trying to get stuff done, and some bloke spawns in and just starts killing you “For the Fun of it.”
That’s just going to get tedious, frustrating, boring, and honestly going to turn away a lot of players.
Think about this Bungie please.

The state of pvp worries me...and they are doing nothing about it.
-
Yea we have always been mindful against having a system where you can get griefed by someone killing you over and over again out in Patrol. We tried to setup Gambit in a way where the PVP element was intermittent and you still felt like you were contributing to the team if you were not a strong PVP player.
-
Yeah, No. If they announce D3 is going to be open online like GTA online I will definitely make a hard pass.
-
Old red dead redemption had a friendly free roam where you could still do all the stuff but players could not friendly fire each other. Rdr2 needs that mode back. If you give no life basement dwellers the chance to grief, they will x10000.

I love it

Edited by iliopoulosXD: 4/3/2019 11:12:02 PMWhat bothers me in the recent “leaks” is if that’s the case....thats not a destiny anyone wants to play. Its more of all the things invested players in year one have been drifting away to other games or playing less. People want what we had in the Age of Triumph. Activities where you could grind with friends and if you were interested attempt challenges for great rewards (like the raid armor ornaments). People want periodic new content in the forms of strikes and pvp maps...raid drops every 6 months. People want decent rewards for grinding patrol zones or bounties. People want ranked modes and leader boards. We want to be able to play endgame with friends of varying skill levels not just Math Class level guardians. With an option to play a challenge mode for achievements and rewards and bragging rights No one. I mean no one wants to run around patrol zones and get head sniped or stressed by bands of wandering guardians while waiting for a bounty boss to spawn or farming mats. I think bungie has no idea who the player base is. Its not Datto. Its Joe Guardian who wants to feel like even without grinding end game 20 hour a week they can get on and experience a raid with friends and have a good chance of completing the normal mode.

How exactly would that happen?
-
The fact Bungie hasn't flat out dismissed this makes me extremely worried.
-
Whats so different then getting spawn trapped now?
-
I would be fine with a certain mode or activity that was PvPvE, but hopefully, it's not just patrols with PvP in them. That would suck.
-
It's an idiotic idea and one that would put many players off of buying D3. I, for one wouldn't buy it.
-
Guess you never played Division 1 or 2? Dark Zones. Destiny 3 will have these type zones.. You knowing go in to them and Players can attack you. You die. You get mad. You then ask for nerfs.
-
My guess is there would be sections of the map like Division with Dark Zones that the PvEvP part would take place. So you wouldn't have to go in there unless you wanted to. Having the entire space filled wth PvEvP would never work and I highly doubt it would be implemented like GTA.

It's fine IF they are basic zones that are only for fun. Buuuuuuuuuuuut you know Bungie will make them huge parts of important quests to force people to go there.
-
Why would they mix something that is against everything in the lore so far?, i mean the crucible is a place for practice and competition against fellow guardians.. so mixing it in free roam makes no sense whatsoever.. we are all on the same side.. Unless there is some kind of light and dark guardians.. but i dunno how that could be done for "players", i see that happening for enemy npcs, totally, but players that are aligned with one or the other and fight in free roam? that would be hard.. you would have 2 different games in 1 (being that each one has opposite objectives), and that would cost an insane amount of money to make plus the hardship of balancing it all.. i don't see that happening..
-
I would not want anything to do with GTA type open world in Destiny. but say you could challenge someone in the open to a 1v1 (small team etc) out in the wild? that could be something.
-
Telling all of you now, I will purposely become that guy! I suck at PvP for the most part, but I will try try again til I "git gud" and kill every blueberry Smurf I come across. Over. And over. So please don't have a PvP element in a patrol type setting.
-
Runescape had a system in place where you can load into a pvp allowed world but it was still only in a certain area. You could join a passive world to go through the combat area unharmed to complete quests that required you to be in that area or beyond it.

Edited by kostfit83kg: 4/4/2019 3:19:19 PMI want to be able to twink and gank in this game so bad
-
Just have the Old Chicago destination in D3 be the PvEvP zone. I mean, it kinda is already.
-
That's bullshit Gta Has passive mode for the weak.... it would be idiotic not to have that ,so some noobs doesn't get bombed out of their mind by me and my jet
-
This wouldn't be a problem if we would get a server system like GTA has. Private lobbies.
-
Theres an easy glitch you can do to get solo lobbies if you're on ps4. Probably works on xbox and pc too.
-
Edited by EmersedCandle83: 4/4/2019 2:05:12 PMMake pvevp zones. There should be a way to traverse these zones easily that avoids PVP entirely This would make sense with the darkness and guardians may want to take sides.

I’ve always wanted this in Destiny. Has my full support.
