Guess no one is playing either of those huh? Need to up the incentive?
You know.. removing cores from the infusion process is really all the incentive most players need. Really simple fix.

without cores, no one will bother with 70% of D2 content. please see.. ;) Keep the cores! just increase Spider's most wanted list.

Stupidest comment I’ve ever seen. Forcing players into content that is boring and no one wants to do should not be a games goal. Enhancement cites have been a massive failure. It’s obvious to everyone except bungie.

Bungie is saying it, i'm simply echoing the fact that sand boxes requires grinds. is there a game like this that has no grind involved? please do tell. without the current grind for EC, a big junk of content would be left unplayable. because really, who wants to play old stuff. hence the game rewards you to play old stuff because of EC. so far nobody has proposed any alternative. can be simply buy them via silver? makes good business sense eh? and any alternative would also require some sort of grind. BECAUSE there isn't much any content in this game. who plays Tier 1 of reckoning these days? snitch.

by removing cores - what will be the incentive to do most of the game's content? this is a seriously flawed request - remember, Riven might just grant that. be careful what you wish for!

what i'm saying is, cores are essential - but it is not as essential as if you will be locked out of content if you enter below the recommended power level. with all my 150 days in D2 I have never felt the need to fully masterwork all my gears. but a time came when i'm simply sitting with a lot of cores and have no need for it. it is only significant now because of the recent power level increase. but upon reaching 700 - my demand for cores decreases. hence no fuss for me. besides the game is providing enough cores on a weekly basis. NPC vendors offer random cores from gears from item exchange. sometimes they give 2. if lucky - you get a fully masterworked item which when broken yields 2-5 cores.
