I never used them. I don't even know what they do. -
They allowed you to reroll exotics

Edited by Dragunov1987: 3/31/2019 6:57:54 PMNot at all. But, then again, Exotic Drop Rates on D1 were good. You could walk away with 30 exotics/week. On D2, you're lucky if you get 10 across all 3 characters. That's why D2 needed "duplicate protection" and needs glass needles. Edit: 30 if you played the activities normally, if you would go on a "farming spreee", you could end up with more than 100.

I miss farming exotics. I know 3 of coins were a "huge" problem for people, but I quite enjoyed it. I don't remember ever getting an legit exotic drop besides the raid drops.

They weren't really a "HUGE" problem. What happened is that people that played the game 8h/day, would get all the exotics in weeks, but most people wouldn't do that. In the end, Bungie cattered to these people and made the drop rates horrible. This, coupled with the fact that you basically run in a "hamster wheel" every week, made the game boring. Strikes were the most affected. On D1, you would go on a strike streak to farm exotics and on D2 this doesn't exist, making them pointless. If I recall correctly, on D1 your only shot at exotics (before 3oC) were raids, PoE's big chest, Nightfall and Xûr.

That's why I put quotes on "huge" Because it really wasn't a problem for your average player. I get where you're coming from. I stopped playing D2 since 1, my TV is broken and 2: I don't want to play "bounties the game" anymore. Something about progression in D1 was more appealing. You can level up at your own pace. I'm one of the few people that leveled up via Iron Banner since Whenever I get a raid group we usually stop playing after the second encounter. I did do the WOTM glitch thingy that allowed me to make it pass the first door and get the powerful chests. That's how I got my Transversive steps.

I had stopped playing D2 because the HDD of my PS4 died and, even after swapping it, I didn't feel like playing. The nerfs and "repetitiveness" of the game made me lose interest among other things. I feel the thing that makes the most difference from D1 to D2 is the freedom you had. If you wanna play crucible to power up, you could. Strikes? Yep. PoE? Yep. Farm factions? Yep. Raids? Yep. Pretty much anything you did got you stronger or good weapons/armos (if not both). And, on most of them, you could choose a weapon or armor to power up. D2 feels like a huge "lootbox". You do said activity and spin the RNG roulette (which seems rigged to give you duplicates of the most powerful item you have). About raids, when I played on PS3 I had a fixed raid group with my friends, however, I was one of the few to upgrade to 4 and had to look for new people to raid with. On that note, I had more look searching on Facebook or even Strikes. Bungie's LFG didn't bring one single player that I kept raiding for long.

I know right. I wish we had the same freedom as back then. Max power means nothing in Destiny 2. When I see someone at max power I don't think "hey, this dude is cool" I think "this dude must have good rng for his powerful drops" I wish they come up with a better leveling system or even bring over the old one. The old one worked fine. The only way to reach 400 was either through raid, trials, or Iron banner. There were ways to level up for everyone. Casuals had IB hardocres had trials and raid. Since Iron banner only came around once a month (I think) Hardcores will reach max level before casuals do since they have more way to level up. D1 had rng too but looking back now, it doesn't seem as bad anymore. Sure I never got that god roll eyasluna but at least I had fun grinding it. D2 whenever I grind something it just feels awful. D2 is devoid of fun and I think people forget that games are supposed to be fun first.
