Now let's begin![/i] Malex and Elite-5 tracked Rika down the hive tunnels of the tangled shore. Or, was it still Rika? Malex knew Dredgen Void had taken over her mind and body. But, Rika had to be in there somewhere. Elite-5: You know why she's here right? Malex: She wants to use the sword logic to gain full control over Rika. I can't, I won't let that happen. Elite-5: (nods) She's your girl bro. You take point. The two press on. Dredgen Void found what she was looking for. She had killed an entire legion of hive thralls. She had earned the respect of the Hive wizard, who agreed to show her the ways of the sword logic. Wizard: The way to ease your suffering and gain balance is to rid your mind of the one thing keeping this, Rika fighting. Tell me, what is the one thing she loved most of all? Dredgen Void: No, not something...Someone. Another guardian, a Gunslinger. Goes by the name of Malex Wizard: Ah, so it is a love bond is it? Very well, to gain full control of your host you need to kill this, Malex. I would suggest... The Golden Gun blast disintegrated her. Dredgen Void spun around and drew Malfeasance Malex: Rika? (fazes out Golden Gun) Is that you? Dredgen Void: No. She's gone. I...have...full...AHHHH! Dredgen Void held her head, screaming. When Void had taken over her eyes glowed a dark midnight purple. Now the color shifted, the outside eye became white, and the pupil returned to a soft green. Rika: M...Malex? Is that you? Malex: Oh, thank God. The two ran to each other and embraced, Rika was crying on his shoulder and Malex never wanted to let go again. Rika: Oh Malex, I've missed you so much. I...I...AHHHHH!!!! Rika pushed Malex away and held her head, screaming. Her eyes began to change, the pupils turned purple, then it spread to the rest of her eyes. Dredgen Void: (maniacal laughter) Gotcha Dredgen Void drew Malfeasance and fired, she fanned off five shots. Malex drew The Last Word and fanned off six shots. He shot the five Malfeasance rounds out of the air and then sent a sixth one into her shoulder. She buckled from the shot, but then began to laugh. Dredgen Void: Very impressive. I underestimated you. (looks him over) So, dominant, so strong. I can see why Rika is so madly in love with you. Malex: Let her go Void (pulls hammer back) or I'll pull you out of her myself. Dredgen Void: No need for such, drastic measures. I'll just be taking my leave. (vanishes in a cloud of smoke) Malex: No...NO!!! He dropped to his knees. This wasn't the first time he had fought Dredgen Void. [i] About one Year Ago, at the Tower[/i] Malex ran through the corridors, dodging incoming fire and chasing the intruder. Whoever this chick was, she was good. Malex rolled and fanned off three shots. The intruder replied in the same fashion. It was like she knew him. Malex had to catch her, he leaped up onto a catwalk and leaped to the opposite wall. He wall ran and leaped once more, landing on the intruder. The two rolled to a stop, and Malex stood and grabbed her. Malex: Who are you!? What are you doing here!? The invader lifted her head Malex: Rika? Dredgen Void: Sorry she's not here, can I take a message? Dredgen Void began to scream, and the purple glow in her eyes faded away. Rika: Malex? Where am I? What am I doing here? (looks down at her hand and sees the Malfeasance) What is that doing here! She throws it as hard as she could, then looked back up at Malex. Needless to say, he was VERY concerned. Rika: So now you know... Malex: Know what!? Rika, what is going on!? Rika: It's...complicated. I've, been hearing things. I'm not sure how but, I know it has to do with that. (points to Sevestapol's Malfeasance) Malex: You've been hearing the whispers... Rika: I...need help. I just couldn't seek it out. It was like it didn't want me to. Malex, I'm scared. Malex: Don't worry Rika, we just need to separate you from that thing. Come on, you need some sleep. I'll take you to Ikora in the morning. Rika: Yeah...Yeah maybe you're right. Thanks Malex. Malex walker her to her quarters, he pulls her close and kisses her. Malex: I love you Rika. Please, don't forget. Rika: (smiles) I never will. Goodnight. She walks into her room and closes the door. Malex sighs and walks away. Rika turned around and what she saw terrified her so much she couldn't even scream. The Malfeasance was back in the display case. And it was glowing purple again. [i]Present Day[/i] Malex stood up. He reloaded and holstered The Last Word. Malex was more determined now than ever to save her. And he knew just were to go to lean how. Malex: Elite, thanks for the lead. I appreciate it but this is as far as you go. I know what I have to do. Elite-5: Where are you going? Malex: To see an old friend. [i] In orbit[/i] Dredgen Void knew what she had to do. In order to gain full control of this host body she needed to kill Malex. Today was not the day, but it would be here soon. [i] In the EDZ, At the Shard of the Traveler[/i] Malex walked up to the shard, he came here to see one person and one person only. Malex: I'm back! And I could use some more advice!
