With the return of Thorn, the forums have become flooded with posts like this: Hand cannons can't compete! Thorn needs a buff! LH/NF are the only guns that can kill people! and the inevitable... HOLY SHEET BOONGIE FIX BLOOM OR I QUIT!!! I really don't get it. Feel free to look at my game history, all of it done on Xbox. You'll find that I only run hand cannons, and 99% of the time I pair it with a sniper (I used a shotgun yesterday to prove a point to my friend). Kindled Orchid, Better Devils, Ace, Sunshot, Waking Vigil, Crimil's Dagger, LH, Trust; You name it. Can I feel the bloom? Maybe, but nothing will ever compare to the bloom on the D1 Hawkmoon. Personally, I find every other gun type to feel weak in PvP compared to hand cannons. I don't mean to imply that y'all aren't using them right, but the strafing ability of HC's should give them a situational advantage over every other gun in the crucible. In air accuracy isn't great on non-180 HC's, but let me ask you this; Have you ever tried firing a pulse/scout while airborne? Spoiler alert, it's terrible. I love Thorn, plain and simple. It's in the lightweight archetype(150rpm), so I get to strafe faster. It has a crazy high AA stat, and a very serviceable range stat. The poison damage tells me whether they are backpedaling or just hiding behind a corner for grenade cleanups. After a kill the gun reloads 4 shots and... what was the other thing... oh yeah, TWO TAPS guardians. Hit those headshots and use the increased movement speed to move on to my next victim. Are you still using hand cannons and loving it? Do you think I'm dead wrong? Hopefully this post spawns more dialogue than fighting, because I'm not aiming to be combative. I think hand cannons are the defacto bee's knees, but that's just my opinion. What's yours?
