I don't think you understand. I wouldn't have minded some changes, but for me they basically took all the fun out of the game in the post-Forsaken era. All of it. You can see I'm far from alone in that opinion. I haven't logged in since September, having played and enjoyed more or less daily since mid-D1. I'm not a "casual" (whatever that means), but I'm not a nolife Hardcore Skillz Guy either. If players like me aren't around to subsidise Y3 - which I personally won't be unless things change radically - the game has no future.

  • I'm pretty sure the franchise will still get to D3 release before any dead is in sight.

Maybe it will, although I have severe doubts personally. But certainly if they're going to double down on this focus on the Core Community as they put it themselves (aka streamers), it's inevitably going to turn into a much lower budget niche thing rather than the full on AAA extravaganza that people are used to - it needs accessibility and a fun factor in order to bring in sales, and given that they've Forsaken (narf) this in year 2 and show no sign of changing course I'm guessing D3 will end up being a much more bare bones affair pitched strictly for the most desperate dopamine junkies. If - and that's a big if - it ever happens.
