As of right now Bungie is trying their best to hold the hands of the casual players while also balancing the hard core fans. It’s obviously a hard task BUT what should their priorities be?? Should they spend time cradling those who sign on once a week or those who pick destiny the second they turn on the console/PC?? They should be watching over those who put the time into their games for ideas towards buffs and adjustment. They should be recognizing the meta and buffing the weapons that are lacking to try and even the meta variety (non of these sweeping nerfs). They should be listening to streamers for potential insight towards new TLC and DLC ideas (Goth always has a positive outlook). There is enough destiny fans out their to keep this game a alive if they all returned knowing the game they enjoyed would return in full. IMO ~although it is harsh~ casuals should either learn to play in a game full of people who love to play it or leave. Because as of right now 300k players currently from 14m sales isn’t working. 4% players base... something isn’t working and most of us know what it is. Who knows maybe the community will become less toxic and willingly run carries on raids for whose who don’t know what to do (I’ve done my fair share of that in D1). Maybe the community will post PROPER criticism on the forums instead of crying nerf every day.... theirs a lot of maybe but it all boils down to one thing. Bungie’s focus on how they want destiny to be viewed going into future seasons and even D3. I wait for the patch notes to go live every weekly update to hopefully see changes I’d like to see. 9/10 times I’m disappointed and for that 1 time I’m glad and can’t wait try out the changes just to find out that said changes aren’t what I had hoped. BUNGIE, I want to love your game but as of right now the only thing keeping me around is the friendships I’ve made over the years in D1 (I know it sounds corny now shut up) D1 was an awesome experience and through all the dry spells that game went through a lot of us stuck with it. -298 raids on Xbox -3600 hours on Xbox A lot of us want these enjoyments back and we hope you’ll deliver eventually. *Needed go vent* for those who read this, thanks! 👌👈
OP, you talk a lot here about Bungie "catering" to either casuals or hardcore, but then you obviously make it clear the "hardcore" are the real fans of Destiny. Then you talk how Bungie doesn't listen to streamers, how do you think we wound up with the mess we have? Or they don't pay attention to the meta, there is no real feedback, I find it hard to believe you ever were in the forums in D1 it you somehow think Bungie listened to player feedback or had regular updates to the meta for the crucible. Destiny won't survive if they cut off what you call "casuals" for the sake of the "hardcore" fans.

 • Sorry I was pretty drunk when I wrote this.... yea Bungie does listen to its community, it just happens to be the wrong half. Bungie is always on a warpath too please the wrong crowd. Let’s say I’m a casual; I run into crucible for my weekly prime engrams and leave bitter because I did horrible. Now let’s say I’m a hardcore; I sign on after reset and play crucible almost exclusively besides and a raid here and their BUT I encounter zero issues throughout my experience. NOW... who should Bungie listen too?? They should listen to both party’s but as of right now they listen to the casuals cry’s too nerf everything. Bungie should be listening to the feedback given by the casuals and then cross referencing the data they collected with someone who ACTUALLY binges the activity before they act. Also with the whole “Bungie favours streamers” thing, it’s not true although it might seem so. Sure most of the big streamers went to the summit to fine tune the game and ALOT of good came from that meeting. At the end of the day streamers are just like every other player, only difference is Bungie devs can actively watch what they use and how they play (I’m sure they do all the time). I’m almost certain Bungie noticed the list of used weapons across PvP and PvE and decided to nerf WOTW and shotguns from a numbers standpoint along with player feedback. The thing is they didn’t really look into what the issues were with shotguns.... they just did a blanket nerf to PvP and buffed in PvE (the buff was actually a nice touch). All I’m saying really is, I hope too see Bungie make decisions more rationally instead of just knee jerk nerfing stuff because too many people cried about it. Also yea the D1 forums were pretty toxic BUT they were only toxic because the complainers Bungie seems to adore now were ignored completely in D1 up until Y3. The LFG wasn’t as toxic in D1 as well sadly. Sure their was strict posts but their was still plenty of people will to assist people (myself included). I can’t even count how many times me and my clan ran new people through any of the raids off reset!! 😄
