This this is always hard in any video game you want to cater to thouse who hop on for a long period of a day and to those who have a lot to do in life but still has time to play.
It’s never easy making a change for one side hurts the other and vice versa so trying to find the middle ground is always a hard job
Time gated stuff to me while annoying does make things better for the people who just have like a few hours to play now yes the hardcore are livid with time gated stuff but if it was all there on day one they’d complain bout not having anything new to do.
Look to hardcore players I get you want to get to max power we all do but you need to understand that people who have only a few hours to play are players too you can’t just say ‘I got to max powe in 2 hours and your not you don’t belong’ no! That drives people away you need to understand we all have our own ways to get max power.
So if your a hardcore player and you treat players who have jobs or school bite your tounge just because they can’t get max power in a few hours you need to shush and be on your way

I work 55 hours a week now a days so really I don’t fall under hardcore since I do have more priorities to follow with BUT on my days off I no life the game. I just remember when progression in power level wasn’t linked to just engrams. You were able to hop on and play a few strikes or crucible matches and go up 1 or 2 levels. The drops from those activity used too drop equal or 1-2 above your level at the time. Now your progression is gated once you complete the activities. Too be fair the drops you do receive are normally 5+ on your overall level so you can go up faster.
