We have a fix ready for this issue, and we're working to ship this Hotfix 2.2.0.2 sometime after we ship next week’s update
Honesty if you have a fix ready why are you waiting till after Tuesday?
I could be way off on this but I remember reading an article a while back that developers get charged like $10,000 for every update submission (as far as Microsoft goes. I’m not sure what the policy is for other platforms and submitting patches/updates). I got the impression that the weekly refresh is something “game controlling” from the developers side (for lack of better words). Like events for the week like Iron Banner and holiday offerings. Double xp and and any other time gated content is turned on and off. These things are part of the game and usually come as an in game update at start up (with the little circle that completes with the Destiny background) as opposed to the consoles own update system at its dashboard. They probably can slip these fixes in then at no additional cost as it’s part of the games infrastructure itself. But I could be wrong. 🤪

Getting an update cleared by the console stores is a process, but a hotfix like this one is performed server side. No update to the client needed just next time a powerful engram should drop it drops correctly.

I’m just spitballing more than anything to try and find some reasoning to it all.

But we all have seen it before. if there was a glitch or guardians were able to get more loot, they shut it down within 24 to 48 hours... none of this 'will address it next week possibly' stuff. Since they can give a crap that we're playing the first weekend of expansion and we're not really able to get anything oh, it is what it is.

Sad but true
-
No problem. I like the dialogue.
-
Exactly.
-
Exactly.
Well it is a solid point, but I also really want to see communication and clarification. Even if for a technical reason they have to release the update first they should be hot-fixing late Tuesday or early Wednesday. If they don’t have a reason then the reason can just be assumed to throttle our progression unevenly.
-
Because it was intentional. They intentionally released the season like this so they can fix it and have the appearance of being responsive... it’s like the day 1 patch for anthem

That makes literally no sense. Why would they screw themselves over? They’d lose more players then they’d get back genius.
-
Makes sense? There is a 20sec respawn in a timed event that doesn't even respawn you in the field... oh, and you can die from the drop. This is BUMGIE. This is what they do.
That makes literally no sense. Why would they screw themselves over? They’d lose more players then they’d get back genius.
They’re trying inflate play time by screwing us with powerful rewards
-
Wow. I want whatever you are smoking. That has got to be some top shelf stuff.
-
I wouldn’t be surprised if they screwed us over intentionally
-
-
They already did lose more players than they can get back and they do not seem to care
-
In fact, they truly seem to be trying to lose players.
-
You make no sense, there is no logical reason that they would do that. They are a business, they need to make money; they aren’t going to intentionally shoot themselves in the foot.
-
Well, the state this game is in seems to suggest otherwise
-
How exactly?
