3 RepliesEdited by Black-Cat-Jinx: 3/10/2019 5:25:07 AMA note on why the nerf to lmgs should be rolled back and swords should be buffed. You did some buffing on launchers. GOOD. But there's a problem. Launchers now feel like the better option against bosses in many cases. I know I see them take a bigger chunk out of the enemies health anyway. The problem is that lmgs are a time on target weapon when they are used against bosses. You have to sit there with your thumb planted ever so firmly up your ass in the middle of an open fire lane to get time on target with a boss that is actively spamming explosions while also exposed to enemy swarm. Missiles you are free to fire and forget, especially with tracking rockets, you paint your target, launch the rocket, and then you move to the next cover. Your entire philosophy on why "scout rifles must be underpowered compared to other weapons" is because, in your words, they allow you to engage targets with too little risk. This is provably wrong, especially when you're dealing with crucible where there are very few lanes of fire that are wide enough that you're going to get any real benefit from this weapon that your target can't turn around and out dps you with a pulse... But I will concede your theory, but none the less remind you, launchers provide a great deal of reward, at only marginal risk. You launch, you get to cover, you reload, you relaunch. The issue with swords is similar. You cannot meaningfully engage ultras with a sword because they will stomp you across the map and splatter you on a wall. The only value of the blade there for is trash duty, getting rid of adds and majors. And while you're using this weapon, you're exposed to the swarm fire of the enemy. And there's not enough ammo to swords for it to properly suit it's purpose for add control. Which. Is another reason I say you really need to reimagine swords, not just buff damage or ammo but really consider just making the whole system work differently. You need to stop specifically assigning metas and try to create a place for every weapon type. Nerfing lmgs into the ground while buffing launchers because that's how you want people to play the game is just going to piss people off. Did. Just piss people off. It's just irritating when you tell people.... "You can play the game the way you want to play..... And be a weak point that causes your team to be less efficient, or you can play the game the way we tell you to play the game and actually keep your friends." I'd say roll back the nerfs to machine guns, maybe increase the stickyness of tracking for launchers, and... I don't even know, do /something/ about swords. They're by a significant degree the worst choice of heavy weapon in the game, even the exotic ones.

What about all the light we lost cause of your incompetence! You going to give us that back?

1 ReplyI would like to report two more bugs that need to be fixed. The first causes me to miss shots I take with any weapon. The other cause me to die when I get shot. Very frustrating.

2 RepliesTelling people to keep the feedback coming is fine and good. But, you should seriously consider having a few people in the forums who actually regularly reply quickly and regularly, and who have connections inside. There will always be some jerks, and feel free to ignore their "_________ is hot garbage" or "__________ is a dumpster fire" or "[F-word with an accent mark over the 'u'] you, Bungie". But if you get a reasoned, thought-out post that displays concerns about matchmaking, or enhancement cores, give a response for crying out loud, even if you're telling them what they don't want to hear. Example: Feedback: Several topics about removing enhancement cores. Or several dozen. Bad response: "We have no current plans to remove enhancement cores." No explanation why. Slap us across the face, why don't you? Good response: "We've discussed removing enhancement cores, but we're concerned about players simply mindlessly infusing new gear into their old gear, and missing out on the opportunity to try a weapon that they may actually like better than the original." Indicates that you've actually considered our request, and expresses your concern about it. (I personally think a better response would just be to remove the frickin' cores already... but that's just me.) I would not envy the people chosen for this; they would need skin a mile thick to put up with all the abuse and negativity; you guys could deliver content with GTA V variety and Last of Us story and people here would still crap all over your hard work. But I think at least some of us would appreciate the effort to keep a dialogue going.

Edited by Necrogen: 3/10/2019 2:22:38 AMBungie, I know you guys have implemented catch up mechanics below 600. That's a good thing. you're issue is though...what if it's a duplicate drop? I have been playing for quite some time and I find that I keep getting the same gear. I know the system wants to top you off and increase +5, +6 etc but if you do all your milestones and get duplicate gear, then you have to wait until Tuesday the following week. Why don't we instead have engrams that garuantee a helmet? A primary weapon? For milestones, I wish you guys could do the same and award higher LL scaling from the vendors. The tower, strikes and NF powerful engrams don't raise it too much. You know what I liked? Out on the field with The exotic quests. I knew by the end I got what I sought after. I can get the same experience with other hard to find items if I know it's coming from one boss examples last word quest, thorn for this coming Tuesday, thunderlord, the Osiris forges. Whisper of the worm, The black armory forges! Those are great ideas. How about we allow bounties to award specific gear now? Let me do a bounty that give me a primary so i can infuse it? I don't mind using cores. Award more cores though like upon level up just like the motes of light from D1. I don't mind that. It's my hope that this read was refreshing as it is meant to be a more neutral and calm tone. Contrary to the norm here, there are those who can express their points in a better way. This by no means is the end all be all fix but it definitely is needed.

Can u please let kell's grave disabled Or actually fix the console frame rate drop issue experienced on it

Since you asked for player reports- out of my 3 characters, after the content drop this week, my warlock now has a quest for Crimson bounties to be turned in to Shaxx. It wasn’t there until I logged in Tuesday and I’m at 2/8 bounties lol. Weird

1 ReplyGambit prime.. lol smmuthaFh. Broken AF!

2 RepliesCozmo, We need an update on when the hotfix is coming. Tier 3 has a recommended light level of 380 and 390 enemies and releases Friday. For players suffering under the effects of this bug that level is difficult or impossible to reach due to RNG, but not for others. If the fix comes Wednesday or Thursday players should know so they can plan their playtime to maximize catching up in power as much as possible. If it’s Friday or later then you’re allowing people to get “bug walled” out of T3 Reckoning. It’s been said but I’ll repeat it: It feels really bad to spend a new season grinding the same milestones we have been for 7 months, but it feels even worse to do it for gear that drops +1-+2 levels. We needed a faster hotfix, but if it’s going to be slow at least give us the date so we can maximize our game time raising our light. This week is already screwed, but next week we don’t want to waste time getting drops before the hotfix.
-
2 RepliesExtremely disappointing that power increases have been limited this entire time and the schedule for Recokoning will continue unchanged. So we are just supposed to eat it?
-
4 RepliesWhy not just roll them out now? 😐 Make sense least I could finish this week instead trolling in forums... This is what makes a game great, patch he bugs asap not waiting for a reset day. Any chance of sorting some RNG protection as I'm fed up of getting legs everytime at +0 or +1 of my light...

Edited by TrueBoricua: 3/9/2019 9:26:07 PMThis seems purposely and elaborately done to drip feed and time gate the run around. Shame on you. “We expected players to hit the minimum-reward Power bumps at ~690 Power, but they've been hitting it at 650 instead We have a fix ready for this issue, and we're working to ship this Hotfix 2.2.0.2 sometime after we ship next week’s update”
-
wait so you can not fix the power issue this coming week. you mean to tell me you think this leveling system is good when it is utter shit and has been for 5 years now
-
Make the new weapons more obtainable .. I mean we're chasing good rolls is it to much to ask for them to drop every now and then if you don't bank half of the hundred motes you need to summon or ten invaders .. not all the curated rolls are that good .. don't care for spare rations curated .. so far Im hearing about curated weapons dropping more than anything

Edited by blade329: 3/10/2019 1:33:51 AM
Reports of powerful sources granting +0 rewards
What, this is a bug? I thought that was the main feature of the game, getting zero rewards for hours of work.
We have an update on reported issues and upcoming fixes to Season of the Drifter: 'Director Challenges are dropping lower Power drops than expected We expected players to hit the minimum-reward Power bumps at ~690 Power, but they've been hitting it at 650 instead We have a fix ready for this issue, and we're working to ship this Hotfix 2.2.0.2 sometime after we ship next week’s update'
Does it mean: 'Do not play our game between the weekly restart on Tuesday and the update 2.2.0.2?'
