Bungie has lost 3 family players who have been here from D1.
No one in my home cares to log in any more.
My youngest, who is an avid Warframe player, is completely done with Destiny's un-meaningful grind.
I'm done because PVP is a disease right now for mid tier play and having to grind endless hours of boring repetitive pve content is not why I play.
Despite D1 being much more pve centric Then D2 I could play all the crucible I wanted in D1 to progress and level. Here I can't.
The grind for pinnacle weapons and their superiority in pvp is just an example of the bad decisions they've made for mid tier players. Don't get me started on what I predicted with shotguns and random rolls.
I've been a staunch supporter of Bungie over the years so this is not an "I told you so" or "welcome to the dark side" moment. This is Bungie turning this game into something the is not compatible for us.
The lack of communication is either showing their arrogance or the scramble to come up with a solid plan to win players back and not wanting to say anything until they're ready. Either way they can keep ignoring the drop in player numbers.
People running to Anthem and Apex should be a clue.
It makes me sad that a game that was the household name for years is now shelved because of poor decisions and not listening to the real player base. I don't see how D3 development can survive what's happening here.

Lol, people make fun of me at work, for still playing.

Edited by Geofront Dragon: 3/12/2019 12:16:38 AMAt this point, I doubt these are poor decisions. They are killing this on purpose, at least that is what I truly believe. I quite literally am just doing the raids this season, nothing more. The number grind is not worth anything this time around. They just want my time, well they can't have it.

Weaken the loot for PvP and you destroy the purpose of the game.

There's a ton that can be done about it and I never said 'weaken' the loot pool. DOn't put words in my mouth please. Pinnacle weapons, as they are, have diluted to loot pool by just existing when that's all people are running (by and large). D1 was a loot based game and didn't have this problem (to this degree). They added weapons that are not readily attainable to mid tier non-no-lifers and them made them so they had very few counters in PVP. It's made the PVP experience unplayable for a huge portion of the community and the numbers show it. People that were on a slower grind schedule realized fairly quickly that they could no longer compete against the weapons that they were grinding for. I've reiterated this before, I've always been content that my grind schedule it slower than most, BUT I was always able to complete things in time because it was still fun to do so. Not so much now.

I try to say what I mean and not infer or assume people understand. Thanks for clarifying.
I try to say what I mean and not infer or assume people understand. Thanks for clarifying.
LOl. I do a fair amount of assuming myself, so my bad. Your comments are spot on though. D2 PvP always feels like I have less freedom. I did not feel that in D1.

Lol sounds like my experience with D1 Whole family bought into it on day 1 They were gone less than a month later Convinced some friends to buy in after rise of iron They were gone within a months time. We're not gonna forget about the millioms who left D1 just to make d2 look bad are we?
-
That sure wasn't my experience. I thought D1 was one of the best games I have ever played.
-
At the time I would've agreed. Hence how I ended up convincing people to buy in to rise of iron. But as the played it and realized nothing had changed. Since 2014. It kinda opened my eyes, and I saw D1 from the outside looking in

I agree with you about the pvp, I’d love to have the recluse but after soloing the Luna’s and mountaintop, I played earlier today, 4 stack after 4 stack, over and over. I don’t think I can keep doing it.

My daughter and I played D1 all the time. I couldn't make her play D2, no matter how hard I tried.

My daughter quit Destiny a few months ago. I can't blame her, she's an occasional player and the grind to level up just sucked the life out of her.
