Final Scene of Forsaken Lookback (SPOILERS)

So last night I was doing my story missions for my powerful gear, and I did the final mission of Forsaken. I hadn’t watched the cutscenes in a while so I watched as the events unfolded and noticed some things that peaked my interest. Now that we have more Lore about the Drifter and some datamined stuff about what’s really going on, this scene has a lot more implications than I really thought. SOME SERIOUS SPOILER STUFF HERE ON!!
Dataminers have found Shin Malphur’s true identity and why we are really playing Gambit. Seriously guys, spoilers here if you need to turn back! Shin Malphur has been identified as Dredgen Vale, the one who started the Shadows of Yor and is actually working with the Drifter (Dredgen Hope) to recruit more guardians to potentially wield the Darkness. Dredgen Yor (Rezzyl Azzir) wanted Shin to be corrupted by the darkness and in order to do that, Shin had to kill him. Exacting his revenge, thus turning him dark. So as to how this pertains to the last scene is interesting. It’s all connected. So we went on this big quest to get revenge for Cayde’s death which is what happened to Shin. Yor killed Jeren Ward and Shin wanted revenge. Uldren killed Cayde and we wanted revenge. Similarities are already popping up. During the final scene, Uldren says multiple things like, “This is to be a Reckoning,” a possible reference to the Reckoning we are playing now involving the Nine. And he asks us which side we’re on, and soon we’ll be getting to choose which side (Drifter or Vanguard) to choose. And he says we get the last word now that we have Cayde’s gun. Shin killed Yor with The Last Word which was Ward’s weapon. We possibly killed Uldren with Cayde’s weapon. Similarities are just everywhere! Then there’s the whole Nine thing and how they are involved. The Emissary of the Nine was seen speaking to the Queen and now she’s talking with the Drifter and helping him with the Reckoning. All in all, everything is coming together and that final scene now has more clarity as to its significance in wording and how it ultimately played out.
After all this, we just have to ask, are we going to still be good guy, or will we become corrupted ourselves? Or will we be able to wield both light and dark? It’s all so interesting and I can’t wait to see how things play out. If I’ve made any errors in spelling or information in general, I’d like to hear your thoughts below.
