The game needs random rolls. Except..... bungie decided that random rolls was an excuse to produce less loot. D1 had random rolls and tons of new loot per expansion. Now we get one or two new sets of armor and one new set of guns. They forgot they were a loot game.

  • There being only a lot of unique loot is not very exciting if 90% of it is garbage. There's a reason why things like the midnight coup were insanely prevalent, and that is because all others had garbage perks compared to it. If I am not completely wrong, I didn't play before forsaken, year 1 had exactly 1 hand cannon with rampage and outlaw, whereas the second best was only rampage, which is a massive downgrade. At least now there are multiple weapons that can roll the specific perks that work the best for any given activity or meta instead of there just being one good weapon. Like for example instead of there just being a couple of good weapons this season, there's actually quite a few ones that seem like they'd have good perk combos. Service revolver with kill clip and rangefinder or rapid hit, the gambit prime shotgun with the melee damage up on full hit. Random rolls give sub-optimal weapons that would 90% chance not have been good a chance.

  • Yes. This guy gets it. Adding random rolls back into the game didn't fix the lack of obtainable/desirable loot. "We only have 7 guns, but now they can drop with multiple different perks that all suck. Chase down those elusive couple of perks that make the gun a viable choice because we aren't adding much else. So long, and thanks for all the fish." *yes, I know we have more than "7" guns available.
